Hey all
I’m looking for a Saints fan who does mind showing a Brit true NFL experience.
I live in the UK and never travelled to America. I love American football and always go to the games in London. Myself and my girlfriend have decided to visit New Orleans and my one request to her was go to a Saints game.
We will be going to the Saints v Browns 17th November.
I really want to experience to best of the city and tailgate.
I was hoping someone may be willing to help us.

Hey Mikey, Welcome to the SSF!

We have a few members here either from the UK or who live in the UK. You may find some common ground here with @TribuneUK and/or @limeyjohn and others.

I'm not sure how your post came and went without a single reply post. That's uncharacteristic of us. I just ran across it, so I'll chime in since nobody else did.

This thread may have gotten buried quickly as you posted on a Monday after a huge win, and we have also been under a Hurricane watch that has now made landfall and passed directly over New Orleans. Thankfully it wasn't a very strong one and we were spared widespread devastation. Our region wasn't without damage entirely though. At a minimum, there has been street flooding due to the excessive rainfall and fallen trees throughout the area. Many lost power, and some remain without it as of today. Businesses have been disrupted as has travel, including local by car as well as flights and cruise ships. This storm arrived late in the hurricane season and should be the last one of the year. Fortunately for you, mid-November in this area typically is without extreme weather temperatures and conditions. Of course, there's always a chance of rain and a possibility of cooler or warmer temperatures, but it's more likely that you will find your time here experiencing favorable weather. The link below is a recap of what was Hurricane Francine that has since been downgraded to a tropical storm.

I hope you and your girlfriend have a wonderful experience visiting our city and take in as much of it as possible while you are here. Enjoy! Be Safe!

Where you are staying may have an impact on how you want to start your day on a Sunday Home Saints Game. If you are staying in or near the French Quarter, you won't need a rental car on game day. You'll be able to walk most anywhere in the quarter and the riverfront area to start your day, and if you are spry on foot you can walk to the Superdome as it is just about a mile from the French Quarter. If you're not up to all the walking, you can hail a cab or call an uber.

If you walk from the French Quarter to the Superdome your most direct route will be on Poydras Street from Canal Street provided you are at its end near the Mississippi River. Otherwise, if you are a bit further up Canal Street you can find several other streets that lead to Poydras St. If you are interested in traditional American type breakfast you won't have far to walk to find it. Mother's Restaurant at 401 Poydras St. offers a wide range of food in a no-frills cafeteria-style setting that has been in business since 1938. No reservations needed. It's a New Orleans tradition for breakfast in its own right. However, this isn't a sports bar/restaurant.
There are many places to start your day located in route to the Superdome on or near Poydras Street as you cross over Canal Street. I've listed several links further below that list plenty of places to consider.

As you get closer to the Superdome you could also stop in at Walk-Ons. It's a sports themed restaurant/bar that has TV screens visible from every seat. It's located at 1009 Poydras Street, New Orleans, La. 70112. It is usually packed before and after Saints games, mostly for the spirits and the TVs. It's a chain. Link Below:

I recommend you get to the Superdome no later than 10 a.m. but it's not really necessary to get there before 9 a.m. There's a dedicated area adjacent to the Superdome called Champion Square. It's an open-air square that has food and beverages along with a large stage and will have a live band performing before each game with thousands of people enjoying themselves. Next to Champions Square you can step inside of club XLIV ........It also has food and an endlessly long bar.

Note:
The Superdome is now cashless. You will need to pay for everything with a card. You and your girlfriend can't carry bags/purses into the Superdome. You both will be limited to a clear see through bag. Travel to the game lightly. It would be a shame to have to leave items outside to lose.

*** Do yourself a favor and read up on the rules of entry prior to gameday. ***

You don't need a personal invite to a traditional tailgate hosted by local Saints fans. There are many of them near and around the Superdome area. If you do get an invite to one, you'll probably meet some very fine folks and interesting characters that know how to put on a hoedown party anywhere they are with some of the best homemade food and fixins you'll find. But if you don't, you'll find the food, spirits and atmosphere at Champions Square and inside the Superdome great.

I'm attaching a link to a thread that was started just last week by another Saints fan planning a visit to the Superdome with questions on what to do and eat. You'll find a lot of good information in this thread shared by several posters. The thread was started by @Saintsman15 with the thread title being "Visiting cousin".

Open the Link Below and you will find a number of things to consider doing while in New Orleans.

Some folks here are certainly more knowledgeable than me about New Orleans and may be able to share some different ideas on the subject.

Anyone want to share some thoughts to help these visiting Saints Fans out?

Man oh man….really wished we could go back in time to when we reopened the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina…Blocking the punt for a TOUCHDOWN. I was there, it was absolutely electrifying. I’ve never been to another game anywhere else that had that feeling….it was absolutely emotional. I wish everyone could experience that…

It was mind blowing…

Welcome 🙏 to New Orleans in November my friend.

Hi mate
Fellow Brit living in Mississippi, around a 4 hour drive from NOLA
I will be heading there for the Tampa game
Welcome to the board, some awesome people here

You want a real saints experience? May I refer you to the Vikings(last second loss) and the Rams games(screwed by the NFL for a Cali team) for your most recent Saints experiences.

Followed you on IG. You can’t miss my IG name. If you are ever in Charlotte, hit me up. I’d I’m ever in the UK, I’ll do the same

Thank you for the information!
I can’t wait now.
Hope you can keep up these wins for my arrival!
I’m going to see the Jet v Viking in 2 weeks in London.
But I imagine it will have nothing compared to actually being at the Superdome.
Anyone sees me at the Tailgate please come over say hi even grab a beer with me!
