Skate was awesome, and this looks even better. In addition to all the new tricks it runs at 60FPS. Win!

To be honest, I'd rather Tony Hawk. Less realistic, but way more fun.

only thing i hated about skate was the view to me was to close coluld have zoomed out a little

Skate is the best game out on the 360 imo. They just nailed the gameplay, it's perfect. I can't wait for Skate 2. The Tony Hawk series is going to have to do something really big to compete with this game.

To Pookie's credit, I seem to recall him posting something similar when the original Skate came out. At least he's sticking to his story.

hes right about the controls and overall feel, its easily the best skateboard game ever made... one of the best titles on 360 imo aswell.

I loved the Tony Hawk games since way back when. I got pretty sick of the latest ones, though, just because they weren't much different.

I wanted Skate to be more fun, and I tried, but it just wasn't.

I like Skate and respect what they did, but it simply wasn't more fun than Tony. Maybe Skate 2 will be, I dunno. The camera angle was a minor problem, but it affected the experience. Skate got frustrating at times when it didn't have to be.

I'll definitely gamefly it.

I thought it was more fun because of the realism, because i actually like to skate in real life. You know, instead of flying over a trash heap off a ramp on the side of a house doing a triple ollie ballicker backflip which i then transition into a 2319 ft grind combo'd into 100 different tricks without ever losing speed.

I hear ya. Tony got goofier and goofier.

And I did love Skate at first. It just bothered me not being able to get off the board, reset, and start again.

I have high hopes for the Skate series. The majority of time on the first one was spent getting the controls right, I think. I understand what the developers were focused on, and they were right to do so.

Now they just need to make it more of a game. The game should get deeper as they layer stuff on top the controls.

But by itself, the first one didn't have that "fun" factor. It was an awesome accomplishment though for the developers.

Yeah it'll be better this time around...looks way more in depth.

There is a large preview of Skate 2 over at 1up.com.

This is fantastic news:

The biggest change in navigation and environment interaction, though, is the ability to get off of your board with the tap of a button. Stepping up onto a curb is no longer a trying ordeal when you lack momentum, and being able to easily ascend a flight of stairs makes a big difference in the way you relate to the geometry around you.

i agree....well somewhat

i enjoyed skate and found it to be pretty challenging...it's not easy

the TH series is just balls out fun though.....yeah, it's ridiculous, but it's fun.....

skate is a solid game though and the realism is nice

having said all of that, i'd buy skate 2 before i buy TH283648286
