This can be merged if Mods deem, but I wanted to start a new thread so that it wouldn't get lost in the 7-8 page thread. Here is the breakdown of the video we're all commenting about in the other thread from the Panther's beat writer Darin Gantt:

In what might have been one of the most unfortunately timed glimpses into the sidelines, Panthers wide receiver was wearing a mike during last week's embarrassing loss to the Eagles. Part of the video's here.

During the spot, he's talking with quarterback Jake Delhomme after one of his four interceptions, and mentions "I never really liked you as a quarterback."

For one thing, he also made a crack about Jake's looks immediately before, and is clearly trying to relieve some of the tension that was hanging over the team like a fog.

There's also the simple fact that busting chops is part of the institutional modus operandi for dealing with stress.
But does Smith really like Delhomme as a quarterback? Probably not completely.

He does a good job of providing context with regard to Steve Smith mainly.

Delhomme looks to Steve Smith 1st on every play. When Delhomme has missed time, Steve Smith's numbers have suffered. If there's one person on Earth who fully supports his QB, it's probably Steve Smith. Jake knows that and that's why Smith can joke with him like that.

Last night I watched Sound FX on Nfl Network and they showed that clip. I have always despised Smith, mainly for killing my Saints, but I now have a lot more respect for Smith.I beleive several number one receivers would have said nothing to their QB. Smith showed a great deal of class in my opinion.

Well Jake went to USL so I feel bad for him, but he's a Panther so I hope there's some trouble brewing.
