Smith upset. Not at off-season workouts (mergedx4) (1 Viewer)

It's a pretty standard move when you're fighting for a new contract. Hopefully, the two sides can agree on his worth and he'll be in camp. We don't need to start subtracting from this defense.

I would like to think they are working on both deals. This seems like pretty standard stuff to me, no reason to worry so far.

They need to get Colston's deal done first

I agree Colston shoud get paid, but unfortunately, Smith is probably more valuable to this team. We really can't afford to lose our overall best defensive player.

Will Smith gets fat and unproductive and then he wants to whine about his contract which he is still under and then not show up to work out so he can sit around and get fatter....

If i was an owner i'd call him and tell him that selfishness gets you no where with me, but unfortunately we will pay him some crazy money and he will come back even more out of shape....

Call him what you want but he's far and away the best football player we have on defense.

Football is a business. Smith is jst doing the standard things players do when they're unhappy with their contracts. If you produced more than a fellow coworker, but that certain coworker was guaranteed to make about 60 million dollars more than you did, you would want a new deal, no?

No actually because in 95% of jobs out there if i decided i wasn't showing up because of my pay, they would FIRE my butt, regardless of how important i was.... especially if my work had steadily declined since my hiring....
