Sneaux next week [Historic snowstorm in southeast Louisiana on January 21, 2025] (24 Viewers)

There's so much snow and it's still coming down.. peak fun has already been reached,.. this is now just a lot forking snow!
And -- at least in SE Louisiana -- it will remain cold enough for about the next ~40 hours that the snow will stick around for two or three days. I'm not even sure the low-40s temps on Thursday will melt it all the way down, though it's supposed to be sunny. Might not be gone-gone until Friday.

Multiply this incident by about 100.
That's what tomorrow may be like. :covri:
Oof -- you're right.

At least in the NOLA area ... the roads absolutely won't be in shape to drive at any point tomorrow. Assuming we're not getting any plows from anywhere.

High 36 tomorrow in Pensacola.. 45 Thursday and Friday... can't possibly do anything tomorrow.

WWL says 9.5 inches in Mid-City which is essentially my neighborhood. I thought it looked like that much but the TV kept saying NOLA got 5 inches. Nice to have confirmation. At that's at 2:00. It's still going and might continue for another hour or so as of about 5:00.

Thinking on this some more ... I'll lay my chips on Saturday, early afternoon. There's a lot of accumulation to clear out -- I can see some icy/snowy nooks and crannies lasting into the weekend. Saturday highs are supposed to be north of 65F, so that will certainly finish off the rest of it.

EDIT: What faceman just said.

They need to take these readings again at sunset.

Maybe Gretna close to the river got somewhat less ... but where I'm at on the other side of the Expressway, we're pushing 10 inches. Still snowing, too.
