To you guys who commented on my Devery Henderson post about him being not any good or gone next year I am sorry. It was just my opinion, but I don't need to be bashing our boys when they are doing something no other saints team has never done. So Yeah Devery Henderson is a Saint and as long as he is on our team I will not make bad comments about him. -Thank You -

IMO.. he jus has or "had" inconsistent hands.. he's a very skillful player he just would miss some very catchable balls.. but with the right coaching i think can model him to be a tremendous threat/weapon to a team thats loaded already.. i personally believe he's growing as a player already, i can see it in the way he's been playing lately and with guys like Horn and Colston showing him a few techniques, i doubt if he goes anywhere..

Devery is the kind of player that makes you pull out your hair if you are a fan of him and/or the team he plays on. We all knew he was raw coming out of LSU (sophmore?). And we knew that Coach Haslett must have had a reason for letting him ride the pine despite his pre-season insane-plays-for-touchdowns. But then he'll go 2 or 3 games without any catches and maybe 1 or 2 dropped balls before showing up to make some big league plays.

I wish he had better *insert whatever he's lacking here* because he teases the hell out of you when he makes clutch plays.

Devery gets a big  as well as a Who dat? from me.

The thing with Devery is he's just raw. He was a running back all the way until (I think) his Jr. season. He also got hurt one year that probably didn't help. He has game changing speed that's for sure. I will say this, his hands have improved alot this year. Now I see him actually making catches with his hands (look at the catch against Philly) as opposed to his body. That's encouraging. Maybe it's still just a concentration thing.

You don't have to apologize for a thread. Just think a little before you post. We've all made our *cough* mistakes posting time to time. No biggie. But, right now isn't the best of times to put down on a player. We as Saints fans are riding on Cloud 9 and enjoying every second of it.

All is well. It takes some people a couple months of consistent posting to learn the ropes of SR.com (reading the terms of service is an idea that comes highly recommended, but sometimes it takes a good heated exhange to hammer the guidelines home).

I think Devery has played great this year. I don't have the time to look up his stats again, but there was a thread earlier this year where we gave a bunch of stats on him that showed he was playing well. Horn also drops lots of balls, so keep it in perspective.

I understand your frustration. Remember he left LSU a year early and most WRs never do anything worth while until their third year. Really he is ahead of schedule. He has the same speed as Stallworth but is younger and healthier. Sean Payton will get him catching better in the future, lets revisit this issue in 2 years.

I have no big problems with the way he played this year. If he drops the game winning TD this week that may change. There is, of course, room for improvement. I'd like to see him a more constant deep threat in years to come.

Actually DH was a Sr. when he left LSU.
He just hasn't been playing WR all that long. He's always been a big play guy, with questionable hands. Even at LSU. Like I said, he's hands have improved a ton.
If he keeps improving he could be a very good WR. The dude can flat out motor.

The name Devery has followed some heavy cursing from my mouth this year. Then I turn around, and praise 'em. The only thing I have against him is his inconsistency. When he's on, he is a phenom with his speed and more importantly, YAC. Some of those dropped passes have been critical, though.

He's only getting better and will overcome.

Like myself, most of his problem are mental. :hihi:

I think he is the perfect number 3 receiver because of his lack of catching ability. He is super fast, but doesnt have the hands to be double covered, thus leaving him open on those deep routes. Perfect number 3 in my opinion.

Yea, I like Henderson, just hate it when he drops 'em .

O.k. how many times have we seen Henderson GO DEEP.. catch the ball. and and get pushed out of bounds on the 3 yard line ???

It seems I've seen a time or two, including the Eagles game, where if Henderson would have simply Fell towards "in bounds" instead of out.. he would of landed in the Endzone ??

:gosaints:

Did anyone else see the stat on NFL replay pertaining to his yards per catch. It stated that his 23 yards per reception is the highest in the league since the 1988 season (with min of 30 receptions). I wasn't aware of this. Pretty impressive. Devery is our deep ball specialist and keeps defenses honest with his speed.

>>Actually DH was a Sr. when he left LSU.

My bad. He had been playing receiver for 2 years, not actually going to college for 2 years. Thanks.

I don't think that you need to apologize for what you said.

As long as you follow the guidelines and your comments are clean, you have
a right to your opinion. If that was how you was feeling at the time, that is fine.
You started a good positive discussion. I think Devery has superior speed, but
like others have said, he makes me crazy over his missed catches (lack of concentration???).
