I believe you can count on at least 1 major play on Special teams that will effect momentum in this game.

Just as much as the Rams will be looking for a trick play on from the Saints special teams unit, the Saints will have to be alert for Fake Punts and Field goals from the Rams. The Rams are known for attempting Fake Field goals and Punts just as much as anyone in the league. Hekker and Zeurlein both have the ability to throw the football downfield as well.

Any 4th & 5 or less should have a Safety prevent Defense look on punt return, and FG teams.

They didn't convert their fake punt, although they got a bad spot on it, so, yeah, you know Payton and Westhoff will be coaching up the ST unit to look for fakes. Our boys should be ready for them!

I was thinking about this last night... we should only play safe coverage special teams sets the entire game.... not even plan on returning punts. Take the fair catch!

The great thing about running fakes is that it creates the threat of a fake. The threat of a fake can be so valuable. You force a team to play safe coverage and without a rush the Punter gets to take his time and boom it. Without a return on, the return man has no choice but to fair catch or let the ball roll inside the 10.

Luckily for us we have a Special Teams coach who has been in the league since 1982 in Mike Westfoff. There's not much he hasn't seen and he'll have his guys ready.
