It takes a special kind of incompetence and/or malice to screw up a company whose business model revolves around posting pictures and stories of sports and beautiful women. But through some dumb decisions, they blew it, and deservedly so. In the process, they took down all kinds of people with them who don't deserve it. That's all I can say on this board on that.

I catch snippets from SI from time to time on here but that’s about it. I honestly can’t tell you the last time I’ve held an actual SI magazine but I guess that’s technology.

I’m curious, does anyone here still receive a copy of SI via snail mail?

The problem is, that business model is obsolete. Today, anyone can post pictures and stories of sports and beautiful women, and many do it for free.

Back in the day, a team had 1 beat writer and you had to wait a day/week/month to read a piece; today you can find multiple writers writing about specific teams on different platforms in real time. Long articles have given way to the 480 word format.

it took a true professional to take and process the beautiful shots you saw on SI... today you can do that with your phone and a free image manipulator.
