After a close loss to the Washington Commanders on Sunday, the New Orleans Saints have fallen to a three-game deficit in the NFC South title race.

There are just three games left and the Saints do have to play the Buccaneers one more time this season. There is an outside chance to make the playoffs, but it is very unlikely to play out that way.

New Orleans is fighting hard again under interim head coach Darren Rizzi, but are also as hurt as ever. They have two more tough games left on their schedule, but don’t have to worry about dropping into last place in the division.

Derek Carr is still injured, but could come back whenever. No matter who the quarterback is, though, thinking about making a late push into the playoffs seems unwise.
