Take this poll: Should the Saints take a late round flier on Kyron Lacy

If Lacy falls to the late rounds, should the Saints draft him?

I don't know, car speeding and fleeing the scene of a homicide he caused may not be the type of speed a pro football team is looking for.

I voted yes. For me, with his situation, I had to process if I could allow myself to draft him, or not. Yes, someone lost a life, and that can not be understated. However, it was due to his negligence behind the wheel. Not something that included a handgun or trying to strangle a pregnant woman (Tyreek Hill). Furthermore, Bo knows him pretty well. If Bo vouches for him, then I would be good. It’s tough bc I want to say no, but I also say yes. Someone will draft him, so let’s get that out of the way. So that also helps me to say yes.

I also want to say that people deserve a second chance depending on the situation

I'd take him in the 5th or 6th. But certainly not the 3rd, and even the 4th might be too soon. That driving accident is a giant red flag, and I wasn't overly impressed watching him at LSU. I suspect he'll have more of a Darius Slayton type of production/dependability which is likely worthy of a 3rd round pick in this draft, but given his legal issues you gotta drop that value to the 5th or 6th.

And I can promise you this. Nuss, given his son knows him really well is going to get a lot of inside scoop down the details about him to know whether or not he's worth it.

Kyren

Looks like there is some unofficial chatter about him being proved innocent. Who knows about that, but his legal issues are a big red flag right now.

The NFL seems to not care about player legal issues before they enter the NFL (Jalen Carter similar situation) and even some not at all (Watson).

A late round flyer doesn't hurt for his talent, but he has to fix his drops.

I also recall some attitude. At least it seemed that way. I recall a couple of times towards end of the season when Lacy was running down the sideline and Nuss didn't get the ball thrown at the time Lacy wanted or expected, and Lacy gave up on the play.

Yeah, he's not a clean prospect/player for sure.

I'd really laugh if the Saints went Campbell in the first, Taylor in the second and Lacy in the third. Can you imagine all the expectations for a whole of people assuming the saints will try to draft Garrett Nuss next year? lol. It would drive the non-LSU fans on this board absolutely crazy.

Oh, that would be hilarious. I'd change my name to LSU Fan and sit back and enjoy the exploding heads.

He didn't turn himself in when the incident occured and waited till the police picked him up. Integrity is a core value. Consider passing on him, IMO

It also shows lack of intelligence. If he were being pro-active at all, like any intelligent person would, he would've been in contact with an attorney already and the attorney would've advised him to come forward. Which means he either wasn't smart enough to immediately lawyer up, or he ignored his attorney. Both are bad.
