N/S The Falcons are willing to keep Kirk Cousins as a back up rather than cutting him (80 Viewers)

They could very well do that, but I feel that he will be traded to another team after the dust settles from the draft.

Between all the money he made his career, he should just keep still in ATL and get another bag to add to his generational wealth, cause he ain't getting the Lombardi or SB MVP.

Get Dat money Honey

This could be Carr’s new role, if we keep him…
This would show the state of the NFCS as a whole.

Falcons starting a sub-par drafted QB with $28M sitting on the bench. (28-3)
Saints starting a developmental QB with a ~$28M? QB on the bench. (don't see this happening)
Panthers starting a miniature way-overdrafted QB that's been benched several times with only minimal improvement shown at best. (ugh...)
Bucs starting Baker Mayfield and walking away with the division multiple seasons. (who had that on their NFCS bingo card)

Bonkers...

On a side note, since it looks like they're gonna take the cap hit regardless, they've set themselves up for an in-season QB swap if Penix goes down or underperforms badly. Also sets themselves up for a pre-deadline trade if Penix does well and a contender loses their QB. That could land them some nice draft capital. Cousins is NOT a bad QB. I wouldn't make him the centerpiece for a re-build, but if you've already got a team, you can win with him, if he's back healthy again.

They need a trade and that's what they are trying to position themselves to do.

Not sure that he has much, if any, trade value with that contract given his play level last year and getting benched in favor of Penix. I'd think teams would be happy to let them keep him rather than pay that salary in a trade. Similar situation with Carr IMO except I think Carr is a better player right now. Although that is balanced off by his currently way too high contract.

Jets is probably the biggest QB buyer this off season.

Yeah. If I'm the Jets, I'd want Carr over Cousins. But I'd really want a younger QB over both. Darnold would seemingly make a lot of sense for them, but it would be really odd if he ended up back with the Jets after they drafted him and he flamed out.

I think Carr probably makes the most sense if Carr was willing to void his no trade clause. Which I doubt.

The best QB insurance policy in the NFL

This is guy is kind of the NFL thief of all time. Mid tier QB getting paid like he's Mahomes LMAO.
