In my opinion, it’s very important that the Saints have some sort of success post Brees/Payton. Even if it’s just a few division titles and a playoff win or two.
I say this because you got to get the fanbase used to the next era.
You don’t wanna be like certain franchises that see their franchise QB/Coach go into the Hall while the last bit of success or winning was with that coach/QB.

Yeah, they went 9-7 and 11-5 in ‘09 and ‘10, but Rex’s run ended with a 46-50 record.

Correct, but those teams weren't really that good. Not sustainable given talent on hand. Jets also made an AFC championship game under Joe Walton (lost to Miami in "82) and Bill Parcells (lost to Denver in '99).

Mark Sanchez didn't "take" any team anywhere. He sucked.

The years you're referring to are 2009 and 2010, the "Sanchise's" rookie and sophomore years.

In 2009, Sanchez threw for 12 TDs against 20 INTs.

In 2010, the numbers were 17 TDs and 13 INTs.

Sanchez sucked.

Pete Carroll was proven right when he said that Sanchez wasn't ready for the NFL after starting one season at USC.

Just for comparison, Parcells is the longest tenured Jets coach that has a winning record at three seasons.

That was due to their running game and having a great defense. Sanchez didn’t do jack

I will say this.
If Carr wins 2 NFCS titles, three playoff appearances and two playoff wins; I’d say it’ll be a success.

This is the DA/DC Era and hopefully that means tough defenses mixed with a versatile vertical offense, but this really all hinders on if the Saints can surround DC with a stronger offensive unit/system, because the Defense will show up but will Pete Carmichael's offense hold the talent on the roster hostage with his play calling and lack of offensive innovation.

2nd year TDs were up, INTs were way down

You aren't thinking that he's going to continue to improve?

and when he does with the D and running game the Jets already had look out

But it didn't last long, that why I said it was a brief moment, but I still say the moment was real
