So I just watched The Last Waltz recently (that's why I had resurrected the Robbie Robertson thread) and wondered if any members of The Band were left. There was one ... till last month.

Now, several of the guest musicians in the film are still with us -- which is a real who's who of musicians who actually survived the '60s -- as is Scorsese.

But, anyway, Robbie is gone, Levon Helm is gone, Garth Hudson was the last one left according to Variety.

I thought I had saw this a few days ago but was caught up in some other stuff.....ugh....sad....The Band RIP

Have some friends that still play gigs (for fun, they have regular jobs), for years and years they had "The Weight", "The Shape I'm In" and "Stagefright" in their set list.....

Oh man, good pull, it's one of my go to albums.

Pulling in to Nazareth has consequences
Perhaps it was fated since previously in another life some of these men were involved in harrowing events and unspeakable acts the night they drove old Dixie down and the next morning, all the local and regional church bells were ringing and the subsequent memorial was held for one Virgil Caine who fought and died on the Danville trains.

He just wanted some decent place to lay his head but through a twist of cruel fate, irony and the horrendous nature of war, a Yankee buried him in an unmarked grave.
