I didn't see a thread for it. 5 minutes in and it's definitely different. A fantasy series that's basically set in an irreverent Dungeons & Dragons universe. Is anyone watching? It looks like the season will be released in batches of 3 episodes

Probably NSFW trailer...

i watched all 3 episodes this past weekend.

i love it.

Started watching today. Great animated series

I love each of the characters equally, this is such a fun show. I loved D&D when I was younger. I have always been dissapointed that no show had been able to properly convey it, not just the fantasy aspect, but the interparty interactions roleplaying while on a well crafted campaign with well developed characters.

I started watching it two weekends ago when i was tripping... so I had to go back and watch it all again to see if it was hilarious as I thought. It is.

My only gripe is there are 9 episodes out now, and only 3 left in this season.

Season 2 is confirmed, but no release date.

Makes me miss the old days of table top gaming

One of my best friends had a mid-life crisis about 5-6 years ago, where he quit his job and became a consultant for another company with the condition that he gets Friday's off. And he uses that extra time for D&D. I play with him a couple times a month now.

New D&D movie, I'm sure it needs it's own thread, I'll let someone else create it...

so, this feels very niche to me. There are some great D&D tropes in there, but it seems like it might be too inside-jokey for wide audiences... Chris Pine as the bard is great though.

I actually like that they are playing to actual fans of the genre. If you water it down for the general masses, it wouldn't be as good. IMO, that is what happened to Star Wars with the sequels. If they had stayed the original course, it would have been better than the generic, fast paced, mess that we ended up with.

Though seeing an Owlbear and a black dragon with the correct breath weapon is nice. Also a mimic and a displacer.

I wonder what % of Americans think they could defeat an owlbear in a fight?

I really like the mimic, if you don’t play D&D you won’t get that at all.
