For as close as I've followed the sport my whole life, they could have silently made this change and I would not have even realized it.

For me, the trade deadline is just whenever the Google search tells me it is when I look it up after about a month into the season. lol

NFL trade deadline is pretty uneventful. I think pushing it back simply is to entice bad team to purge rosters

Wow, a whole week. Given that the schedule includes an extra week now, not really a big change. Not sure why they do not push it back a couple of weeks instead of mid season.
