They have played much better in the last 2 weeks, in one loss and today's win. First, I wanna give them props.

But secondly, what exactly has changed? The coaching, the players? Both?

I mean, the difference in play is night and day.

Does anyone have any insight?

Even though after the Titans game, we all thought Penning was getting better...getting Penning out of the lineup seems to be paying off in big dividends. Im starting to really worry about his longevity and career as a Saint if journeymen players are clearly outplaying him in spades.

who started ? I didnt notice the starting lineup being shown on screen at any point...we got the low budget c team sanchez broadcast

Peat is at LT and Max Garcia at LG.

I'm not giving up on Penning just yet. He's young and we knew he'd need to be developed. That said, do NOT mess with what has been working.
I would argue Hurst at LG w/ Peat at LT gives you best 5 currently. Penning on scout team working against the 1’s consistently certainly helps his development.

I loved the delayed hand-offs out of the gun too. Give those guys a break from pass protection and let them punish some guys who were licking their chops thinking they’d be pass rushing.

I think the OL are playing slightly better. And I think we are scheming around their weakness better. I’d like to see a comparison of how long Carr has held the ball every game. I think it’s a workaround, but much welcomed.

As much as I despise Peat, he's the best option we have at LT it seems. He will struggle with speed and end up on the ground alot because that's what he does. But his knowledge of our offense and overall experience is lending him to play better than Penning was and Hurst imo.
I think it helped alot that the run game was used more and the blocking schemes were more creative. I was impressed with the play calling and the offense just seemed more in sync starting with the line. There weren't as many missed assignments and Carr was given more time which led to him not being rattled. He was more decisive and the ball was coming out on schedule.

Overall, it was the best performance by our offense, as a whole, this year. But I'll take it with a grain of salt since the Colts defense isn't a top tier unit.

So we have been playing Peat out of position all of these years. He looks so much better at LT than LG.

He’s played LT before. He filled in for Armstead a good bit and was usually average to above average. I think he’s been better the past two weeks. Maybe he sees this as a chance to stick around next year.
