Watching ESPN this morning I keep hearing the so called "experts" repeating this mantra over and over. That the Saints are terrible road team. At 3-3 they are at worst average, not horrible. Just for fun let's look at the Saints losses -
@Packers - Superbowl winners just don't lose at home on opening day. The Saints gave the mighty Pack all that they could handle.
@Bucs - the Saints were at the end of a three game road trip (chances of winning the last game of a three game road trip in the NFL - 9%) AND Sean Payton got injured. Not excuses, just facts.
@Rams - the Saints bought into the "just show up for the victory" hype and got humiliated. The OL in particular was embarrassed but since then has played like men possessed. Brees was sacked 6 times against the Rams but has hardly been touched since then. The Rams game proved to be a giant "wakeup call" for the Saints OL. It was a huge letdown game for the team but it wasn't without it's benefits.
Finally the "horrible road team" in it's biggest road game yet of the season, @ the Falcons, won. On a potential Saints/Packers NFCCG matchup - both teams have to play in the weather. Cold and snowy, on a sloppy frozen field almost always favors the team that can run the ball. Guess which team is 8th overall in rushing and which team is 28th?
