of the NFL this past Sunday in Tampa. I'm not saying that everything's all rosy after one dominant game, but I believe the Saints found out what they had to do to get back to playing SAINTS FOOTBALL.

We've been working in some new starters due to injury on both offense and defense, and I think the timing of the blocks by the O-Line and the fits by the LB's and safeties and CB's has been a work in progress.

This last game against Tampa Bay was a shot across the bow to serve notice to the rest of the NFL that we've worked through our problems and injuries and now we are in sync and on a MISSION TO REPEAT!

If this game didn't wake up and put some fear in our upcoming opponents, we'll make them pay for it.

Great game Saints, this is how you can play and what we've been waiting to see. Keep it up, IT'S OUR TIME!!! WHO DAT!:ezbill:

I think you're right. I expect them to have the same kind of success this week. Of course the Browns aren't a juggernaut, so the Steelers game is going to be the measuring stick of where we really are.

They've still got A LOT of things to fix on this team, but I generally agree.

Next weeks game gives our boys a shot to fix things before the Steelers game. I've got my fingers crossed that Reggie will be back by then..

I think the pittsburgh game will be a battle of the trenches.Their db's are trying to kill the opposition.

Don't think the offense found their mojo in one game against a suspect defense. It's a good start but let's see if they can carry it into the Browns game... and more importantly, the Steelers game.

I think it served notice to the rest of the NFL that we can still blow the doors off of anyone, but I'm still not sure if we can blow their doors off consistently like last year. If we beat the Browns down this week, I think you'll see a lot of national guys start jumping back on our bandwagon.

I don’t know if anyone else noticed this.
<O:p
But the Saints played ANGRY on Sunday.
<O:p
The Saints Offensive line blew 5-7 yards down field on every play. There where multiple white shirted D-Linemen lying on the turf on every play. The look of every Saint player and coach seemed extremely intense. Even when it was over, quick hand shakes and right to the locker room.

IMO, one thing that the Tampa game did, more than anything else, is give them a taste for dominant winning, and reminded them of how it feels to crush the opponent and have their way with them. That's a good feeling: to not have to depend on one single unit of the team to do it all, to not have to worry about a missed FG at the end, or try to play catch up. I think that feeling is addictive and it's something they will work much harder to maintain, IMO.
Now, the Steelers present a possible stumbling block to that dominance, simply because of their defense - it's just great, no getting around that fact. Truly a test for Payton and his offensive play calling to determine how to move the ball effectively and score on those monsters. But, first things first - take care of the Browns and come out with a W.

we will see halloween night where they stand in the pecking order of the nfl

First off, I wanna say I really appreciated the way we played against Tampa.

I certainly don't think or even act like we got our "mojo" back just yet, but all in all it was definately quite a start to get back to what we are really good at(stretching the field)(running effectively) clicking on all cylinders, and playing at a high level to gain our "mojo" back.

I really wish we play Cleveland like we played against Oakland last preseason, I said this during that game, and so did Stan Veret(espn), "what we did against Oakland had Superbowl written all over it"!

Being meticulous on Offense, and somewhat overly aggressive on Defense! It paid off with a ring.

If anyone remembers that preseason game against Oakland last year, you will definately understand what I'm talking about. Everything was so precise, it was pretty, and breathtaking like some classical music. Gives me chills now just thinking about it!

This upcoming game against the Browns is a very important game, if we give the effort or more that we gave against Tampa, we're in GOOD shape. I guess you could call it a "tune-up" game, the Steelers won't know what hit them if we go into the Browns game "ready to be special" & "smell greatness again"!:jpshakehead:

Phew!!!!! Is all I can say!

We're close, but this game will tell us alot about our boys and where they're heads are at.

If Hartley can get his mind right....LOOK OUT!

Why is everyone so pumped on the Steelers game? It is a big game but an AFC game that isn't THAT important.

Steelers may try to bully our receivers, but we have so many good ones.
You cannot eliminate Colston, Meachem, Moore, Henderson, Shockey, Thomas, Roby, and all the running backs. Even if they hurt a couple, there are just too many weapons.
We can even pull Arrington off the PS if needed. I really don't think they can bully Graham, so I did not list him.
