1. Saints Brass are high on Spencer Rattler.
2. Saints are doing their homework on QBs.
3. Saints want impact players.
4. Saints would be reaching at 9 for a QB
5. Saints defense needs playmakers
6. Bresee needs help on the interior
7. Saints pass rush is not very good
8. Saints o line needs help at the guard position.
9.:Saints down 2 cb's. Latt trade and Adebo gone
10. Saints need to get young at LB position
11. Fanbase unaware of Carr injury til now
12. Saints need TE help
13. Saints need another wr for Olave insurance.
14. Kamara needs help in the backfield
Add more if you can think of any.
Anyways, it's just shows that this team could go in any direction come draft night
The highest impact player I see that could be available at 9 could be CB,TE,or Lb .
With the news on Carr, (which the brass knew about but we didn't) suggests they have 2 plans.
The first is having a QB they really like fall to 9 or close to it. Never doubt Loomis burning draft picks to move up. The 2nd plan is to go with Rattler and grab a 2nd tier prospect on day 2.
Nobody knows what Spencer can do but Moore may have a plan. Maybe we trade back in to round one with the Eagles and get a 5th option 2nd tier QB at pick 32. Again, Loomis loves burning picks.
Impact players are usually players that start day 1.
My impact playes are Jihaad Campbell, Lb Alabama , Tyler Warren TE PSU, and Jahdae Barron, cb texas @9.
I'm not gonna list any others because they should be gone.
Barron could start but Campbell and Warren probably would not. Depth chart suggests CB needs more immediate help.
The whole injury thing with Carr kinda screwed up my thinking. Does the new staff want their own QB in round one? Nobody knows but McShay pointed out that Moore has worked with QBs who can run and throw. Dart and Sanders both can do this but I give Dart the slight edge here because he ran with purpose .
Other prospects are duel threats as well. Milroe, Shough, McCord. Ewers is the wildcard because he's mainly a pure pocket guy.
We have our work cut out for us this draft
I'm trusting the process but I've never
had a harder time finding a player I want in round one. IMO, we need to let the draft come to us this year and take advantage of our picks.
The only trade we should make is for a QB we're in love with.
