Game ball to Anzalone for that finger-tip INT. That was clutch.

All in all... this was a complete team win.

Drew, Kamara, and Thomas proved once again that they are the best QB/RB/WR trio in the league.

Our secondary gave up a lot of yards, but that was a given going into this game. But for the most part, they kept the play in front of them. That was our strategy, and it worked for a win.

Remember when we all believed that our LB group was going to be our achilles heel this season? Well Saints fans... we were very very wrong.

One sour note... our pass rush took a step back without Davenport. We need him to get well soon.

One more sour note... Meredith ghosted the stat sheet again. Trying to be patient, but it's starting to feel like maybe it was a bad decision to use so much of our small remaining cap to bring him in. There's still time, but at this point he's looking like a bust.

IMO, our O-line won this game for us. Watching our hogs dominate was refreshing after having paid through the teeth to watch the exact opposite happen the night before in Baton Rouge.

Sean Payton called a terrific game. McVey might be the next young rising offensive genius... But in that regard, our ball coach is still the GOAT.

Does anybody on SaintsReport still believe our #1 run defense is overrated? I mean seriously???

Approx... 74,295 game balls to the home dome crowd. That was playoff vs ATL or CAR loud. Goff was constantly having to cover his ear-holes and eventually reverting to frustrated hand signals. That's huge folks!

Hats off to our #2 QB Teddy Bridgewater for being a steady presence on the sideline while our #1 and #3 QB have all the fun.

12 catches for 211 yards and 1 TD... And that 1 TD was the back breaker for the Rams. And it wasn't even Michael Thomas' best catch!!! Not even close. Our man was on fire yesterday. That performance along with his steady dominance all season long should put MT in everybody's top 5. He is ELITE. I have a hard time finding 3 WRs to put ahead of him... much less 5. And after yesterday, I'm not sure there's even 1 WR better than our guy!

I remember thinking throughout the game that we used our FB a LOT yesterday. Against that D-line... it was needed and evidently, Zach Line handled his business.

Me and my wife got stuck on the sidewalk heading towards Mannings yesterday morning while the Rams left their hotel and loaded up on their busses. I offered to buy them all the drinks they could drink between then and kickoff. They politely declined. Glad I didn't make the same offer for after the game. My bank accounts would be in the red this morning. (Suh did not look anywhere near as big in person as I thought he would... Brockers looked much much much bigger. That's a big dude.)

There were some plays where our secondary got beat, but nowhere near as often as you would have thought going by what lesser offenses have done to us this season. I don't know if it was our players simply performing better, the game plan / coverage scheme, or both. Regardless... it was just enough.

Time of possession: SAINTS 33:41 - Rams 26:19
First Downs: SAINTS 31 - Rams 23
Score: SAINTS 45 - Rams 35
Total Yards: SAINTS 487 - Rams 483
Total Plays on offense: SAINTS 70 - Rams 59
Turnovers: SAINTS 1 - Rams 1
Sacks: Saints 0 - Rams 0
QB Hits: Saints 5 - Rams 4

Well, we've made it through the three games that I circled before the season as the toughest stretch on our schedule... Ravens, Vikings, Rams... And we went 3-0!!!
Next up the hobbled but fresh off a bye week Bengals. Not sure how they'll manage to hang with us without their most dangerous weapon (AJ Green), but it's a road game against an AFC North team. Those games are usually the "grind it out" type for us. After that it's the defending Superbowl champs in our house. Both of these games look very winable, and we need them to be wins. The panthers are still right there nipping at our heals. They're only back one game with the bi-polar Steelers and bi-polar Seahawks as their toughest remaining games other than when they play us of course.

We're 7-1 at the halfway point... The Panthers are 6-2, and the Falcons at 4-4 don't look as "out of it" as they did 3 weeks ago. We need to buckle down and keep this thing rolling. We can't let a couple "let-down" games interfere with what has been a glorious start to our season. That being said, there shouldn't be any doubters left. Our Saints are legit. We are the best team in the NFC South, NFC, and the NFL... game-set-match!

Nice summary. Agree on all points... especially that Payton made McVay remember who the real offensive guru is...

Have to give credit to Rams O-line as well they are pretty damn good to hold our D-Line in check as well.

Absolutely. The Rams O-line is easily top 5. Matter of fact, they pretty much match us across the board talent-wise. And they have a very strong coaching staff too.

I find it hard to dislike them. I remember all the old NFC-West hate back in the day. But it just hasn't carried over for me. I try to call it like I see it, and I see the Rams as being Elite. That makes yesterday's win a win against an elite team... Which even further proves that we are an elite team as well. Yesterday, we were more elite than the Rams.
