Expect there to be a good bit of activity with veteran free agent signings starting tomorrow once week 1 of the 2024 season is officially in the books. Teams will no longer be required to guarantee salaries for the entire season. Exceptions can be made to this of course, but most teams will be signing these players on a 1 year lease with the right to terminate from week to week.
In the September 8th, 2024, article below by Nate Bouda of NFL Trade Rumors as viewed at www.nfltraderumors.com they list the top 100 free agents on the market as of yesterday. Players on this list are Veterans ranging in age from 25 to 35. Keep in mind that this is their list of the top 100 free agents. Not all of the free agents available are on this list. Also, though not free agents, there are about 500 players currently on NFL practice squads throughout the league. Additionally, approximately 700 younger players who were in NFL training camps are now free agents as well that are not on any teams practice squads and are also not on this list.
