The Saints have a player on the team that that can substitute for Kamara in Ty Montgomery. I seem to remember he has also lost five pounds. This may make him quicker than he was at 220 and able to do some Kamara like things. He is also an excellent receiver just like Kamara and can probabaly fill the slot as well. I wonder what it would be like to put both on the field at the same time with one split out to the slot close in making them a screen threat, etc on the edge.

Montgomery did a great job in Denver game. I was a bit surprised he wasn't used more during the season--but then again, Kamara and Murray were excellent. After all, you can only have so many offensive skill players on the field at the same time.

With Winston in at QB, they might utilize both in field often. One of them can push or spread the field, the other set up at satellite/screen. Then put M.T or a TE in the middle on a mid route.

This move might work with Taysom if he develops his reads quicker, Heck Id line him up somewhere close to Winston, just to make thf opposing D guess really hard on what play is about to be ran.

I won a fantasy football championship when TY hit the scene with him. He was doing Kamara stuff before it was the norm.

I don't feel he is Diet AK, but he IS a good running back with more legit WR skill/experience. AK can just do things that most players can't...but I see the knee jerk comparison of a skilled, pass catching RB.

I think the Saints are feeling pretty good about the WR room, more than we all seem to be. I would like a "non sexy" vet with some speed and add legit speed in draft if the right WR falls to us to develop, though.

Montgomery having WR ability and knowing the system falls into depth and the "trust factor" with CSP. He was clocked at 4.55 40, who by all accounts points he is faster than that. He is 6 ft. MT clocked a 4.57 40 time. He wasn't even in the RB room at the time of the COVID layoff of our RB room, which is why he started. I like him in the RB rotation and I think they are looking at him as more of WR who can play snaps at RB. He has some fresh legs, too, with limited snaps the last seasons.

What a great option to have him in the wings if needed as WR or RB and/or utilizing him in certain snaps. With injuries always coming up at the worst times for us, I am glad he is on the roster.

I don’t know... I think Montgomery is a nice piece to have as an insurance policy, but if a guy like Kenny Gainwell ( or Demtric Felton to a lesser extent) falls into the Saints’ lap later than expected, they could make Montgomery expendable IMHO

Return to the Bush/Thomas type backfield. That was an explosion ready to happen on the screen.

Take Alvin Kamara...now take a diet coke version of Alvin Kamara. Now take that diet coke version of Alvin Kamara and dilute it with 90% tap water. Boom...you have Ty Montgomery
