So I am hiring for 4 positions through the country. I am using a headhunter/recruiter to help me find candidates. I did a face to face w/ a guy in Florida (from Philly originally). I decided to not move forward for various reasons. He then sent this email (sent to the recruiter but CC me in on the email), I edited out my company name but I thought this should be posted on the interwebs somewhere, so why not SR!

John,

It was a great pleasure working with you in reference to an opportunity with CompanyX. Sorry for contacting you so late, because I have been making major changes to the ConsultingCompany network and will be working the rest of the weekend and having meetings with exec's over the weekend. I have a 7:05 flight out today to Philly. It's best off that I was not considered for the SE opportunity with CompanyX because my family, on both sides, were screeming about how CompanyX has serious issues. At the end of the day, they still don't have qualified individuals.

John as you know, CompanyX today has serious failing issues because managers at all levels don't have a clue.

Terrence might have thought that I didn't do my homework about the company, but at the end of the day, I didn't want to talk about how the company he works for has major alligations and failures! Ya sorry, about not knowing my Hotel, rental car and airline quick numbers, didn't know that was part of the interview!

After a major research of the company and speaking with scientists and doctors who work for CompanyX, they all said to stay away and run. If you don't believe me, goggle CompanyX and see what CompanyX employees have to say about their own company. By the way, their HR is a *insert colorful adjective* joke! I feel sorry for Terrence because he is just a corporate *female dog in heat* who is being used by the CompanyX corporation.

Terrence, you're a good guy, if you ever want to call and discuss corporate crape stuff, 863-555-1234!

Can I do the job, absolutely

Jim

I have been in this role 2.5 months, and in that time I had to fire a guy (who was a friend) for fraud, and now looking for candidates I get this response.

What industry? Not looking for the company name, just really wondering what the company does.

It started off well, but then the spelling got worse and he got angrier. Wonder if he was drinking.

Irrelevant.

Sometimes it takes a drunken rant to reveal the harsh truth.

He drunk dialed, err, emailing. He does not work for the company, thus he has no true inside knowledge. Does the company have issues (yes), which one doesn't. I work for the company and dont know the 'scientist' who says it sucks.

That is insane.

I feel very sorry for the firm that does eventually take a chance and hire this nut-loaf. Does he not know the first thing about never burning your bridges with a hiring manager whose only "sin" was in deciding to choose another candidate this time?

Also, "screeming?" Good lord. I hope he was drunk; if he was sober when he disgorged that steaming puddle of bile, he has Problems-with-a-capital-P.
