I didn’t know anything about the HBO angle
I think I’d rather watch on HBO than USA but that just feels like it’s accelerating the migration to streaming

Went to Muses, but recap looked like best first half they’ve played in awhile

Mallory Swanson ( Pugh ) is the real deal. She is by far the best player on USWNT.

They pressed relentlessly. At about the 30th min, announcers provided this stat:

Canadian touches inside US 18- 1

US touches inside Canada 18 - 50.

2nd goal was direct result of the culmination of the press.

They came out in 2nd same way, but with wave of subs, the continuity slacked off a bit.

The ONLY gripe i would have is Lindsey Horan and her tempo- She is fantastic facilitator and distributor ( and very skilled on the ball ) but there are times where she brings the tempo to a halt when the time calls for quick counter. Outside of that, they were pretty dominant.

Goalkeeping was very good as well. Had a few really nice saves.

I think next is Brazil or Japan and we will find out a bit more about this team. The WC is in 4 mo so not much more time ( or game play ) til selection.

Kinda surprised the announcers didn’t make more of it but Trinity’s disassembling of the defender leading to the 2nd goal was incredible
