Though I still don’t understand, and it happens more than you’d think, a defender doesn’t TAKE A KNEE IMMEDIATELY and the game is over.

1. Take a knee. Snap it twice in victory formation and game is over.
2. Continue to run. You could fumble. You could even score, thus giving the ball back to Brady with over a minute, He could score, onsides kick, and kick a FG and you lose.

It’s not likely, but it could surely happen.
