The Vikings were supposed to be in a transition year with Darnold acting as a bridge QB for McCarthy.

Instead they won 15 games.

Yeah Darnold was figured out at the end of the year, but again, I guarantee you O'Connell and the Vikings front office would have laughed in your face if you told them they were going to win 15 games before the season started.
