Vilma coming up on WWL (1 Viewer)

Asked when he thinks he'll be 100%; says he'll know when he's 100% after he gets on the field and starts hitting people; he's anxious to get back on the field. Sounds like he really likes to hit people!!!

My other half just called me from Mobile, and is listening to WWL on the radio. They just announced that Vilma will be on after the break.

I'll give you the breakdown before he speaks.

"I'm thrilled I was traded to a contender like the Saints"

"My injury rehab is going ahead of schedule, and I'll be ready for camp."

"I don't care about money, I want to win"

"I'm a leader, and will lead this defense and team to victory, in my own humble way"

Let me know how close I was, LOL.

Thanks a lot for the heads up. Listening now

Q: What he brings to the NFL from a program like Miami with all those great players:
A: Be confident in yourself and your abilities; lots of guys as or more talented; you can fall by the wayside or you can work to compete with the best. That's what I got from Miami and it's carried me to the NFL.

Q: What can fans expect from him:
A: Get Ready, I'm so excited, I can't wait -- (he sounded like he was grinning from ear to ear when he said that!)

He said he can't wait for the food, LOL

LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!

Thanks primadox!
Good news that he's on schedule. He can squat and jog now.:worthy:

Nice to know that last year was the first time in his career, high school, college, or NFL, that he's missed a game, let alone the rest of the season.

Vilma said at the end to tell Saints fans to get ready, he's so excited, just get ready. He talked about Miami a lot, I guess I caught it mid-interview.

-Thinks the Saints have a good chance to make a run. He wants a Super Bowl ring, and he's happy to be in NO.
-Tough being injured. First time in his whole career he missed a game, let alone the rest of the season. Says he's using the old cliche "one day at a time" because there was a time he couldn't even walk. He's enjoying every little step back: walking, squatting, jogging. Staying patient.
-Won't know when he'll be 100% until he gets back on the field and starts hitting people. Wants to get back on the field ASAP. He is on schedule in rehab.
-No way was it PI by UM's Sharp vs. Ohio St. in the National Championship game. He was not a happy guy when they called that.
-Self-confidence was most important thing he learned at "The U.''
-Tells Saints fans to "get ready" because he's excited and can't wait to get there.

Agree --Love the signing

I think he can have the same impact on the D# as Drew Brees had on the Offense

That is EXACTLY what I'm thinking; the situations are similar -- coming back from an injury and wanting to prove something; a good guy who was a fan favorite with their former team; has a real appreciation for the fans. I have a feeling it won't take him long to get involved in the community and the rebuilding, either. "Meant to be" like Brees? I'm starting to think so....
