My wife and I are working on our first collaborative creative project. Our concept is a take on the concept of monsters that humans train and compete (e.g. Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Skylanders, etc.). In our story, the world of monster competition is run by a large, wealthy, powerful league, not much unlike certain professional leagues in this world. The commissioner of the league will be my main villain. The league starts off legitimate but becomes a front for a Mafia-like mob racket.
I'm looking for plot lines based on or inspired by the world of professional sports and the ethics (or lack thereof) within. I definitely plan to put a nod to Roger Goodell and Bountygate in this story. All ideas are appreciated.
