I think FS was the biggest need on the defense with SS being second. I just don't think Vaccaro is anywhere near the best safety in the draft. I hope I'm wrong but I think we'll look back at this pick and wonder why opted for Vaccaro over Reid, Elam, Cyprien or Phillip Thomas.

I'm no TCU Dan but I feel that Harper's liability in coverage would have hurt the team's ability to let the LBs tee off on the blitz. Every time the LBs blitzed in the past, there was an open invitation for the QB to drop one right by Harper. That won't be the case with Vaccarro. I don't know why but I really get a Polamalu type of vibe off of this guy. Yes, I know he's a SS not a FS. It's just a gut feeling. I don't know why but I think he could be huge for us.

He is the most versatile , and can play slot for us, not sure about best, but maybe, I do love the way the defense is coming along
