Not many great DT's left after Albert signed. But this kid has been a big oart of a very good Chargers D. He's 6'6" and 310lbs. He might be a good partner to Sedrick Ellis at DT. I was just thinking about this b/c the Giants are doing it with Chris Canty.

Can he play in a 4-3 because he's been used in a 3-4? I wouldn't mind it but it ain't going to happen. Green Bay is making a push for him

The diffence is Canty is athletic, while Olshansky is just a big stiff. He'll probably sign with a 3-4 team like Green Bay. He's not for us.

I would rather make a play on someone like Shaun Cody from the Lions. He was a good prospect at USC, and maybe could do something playing next to someone like Ellis. He would be good depth at the least, and someone with some upside to improve.

I wouldnt mind taking a look at this guy, it wouldnt hurt. Hes a good player and he might just work out in our system. He is not just a big stiff, have you seen him play?

Yes, many times. Including against the Saints, where he was dominated by Carl Nicks. He's on a defense with a ton of talent (Jamal Williams, Luis Castillo, Shaun Phillips), yet doesn't make any plays. He'll sign somewhere (and it won't be the Saints) and continue to just be a body on the DL.

I remember him doing quite well against plenty of teams, hes not surrounded by talent, he is part of that talent, he is part of the reason why they can make plays. a DT usually doesnt catch a fans eyes when they watch, but he has been doing quite well. Most people outside of New Orleans couldnt tell you what our DT's have done, including Ellis. What other games did you see him in? because i cant recall many where he looked bad or got dominated, or even looked like a "stiff body" The whole defense for them looked bad playing us because of the type of field they were playing in, it benefits offense, not the dlinemen or any defensive player, and even then he didnt look bad.

I dont want to beat a dead horse but seriously, why not move Charles Grant to DT and start Mccray. I mean seriously its not like Charles is the most dominant DE in football. Who knows. As far as Igor my bet is he is going to be a packer......unless they sign Jason Taylor.

I think teams would run it down our throat if we went to that full time.

We ran the ball well in that game, and it happened to be to the left. Again, Nicks controlled Olshansky in that game. I've watched other games like the AFC Championship two years ago when he was controlled. He is just an average player.

And when you're playing next to Jamal Williams, he will take up all of the attention, and it's your job to go out there and make plays. He didn't do that, and that's why he wasn't re-signed by the Chargers.
