He sued the league and three NFL teams for firing him or not hiring him. Plus, his time as head coach in Miami was not smooth sailing. Were I an owner, I would not consider him. I do not think he has been blackballed as a result of an express or implied agreement by NFL teams. But a consequence of the lawsuit is that teams are not going to consider him.

He'll probably never get a chance as a HC after everything came out about how he treated Tua. Coaches are supposed to build players up, not intentionally tear them down especially the face of the franchise. Him as a DC where he has someone to answer to is okay with teams.

To everyone saying don't sue the boss, I agree if his accusations are baseless and just a timewaster. However, if his accusations are true and have merit then 100% sue the boss. That's the only way things change. If he's being blacklisted because of it then that is indicative of a much larger problem - one that I'm not so easily willing to shrug off.

Oh I don’t disagree…just saying if you want to be a head coach, it’s probably a detrimental move. Not necessarily the wrong move though.

It’s really like any other profession. Right or wrong, when you sue your employer, people will always have that in the back of their minds when considering you for future employment. You never escape it. I had a case against a past employer but chose not to pursue because I didn’t want to taint my value to others in my industry. The short term gain wasn’t worth the long term effect.

Bears, Jaguars and Jets interviewed Brian Flores for their Head Coach jobs this year.

They all hired the coach that they wanted the most, which were the most popular candidates.
