I think l may be living in an alternate universe, one where the 49ers look way below average, where the Panthers, Giants and Broncos won on the same day, one where Mahomes looks human and one where the Vikings look unstoppable.
I wonder what the odds were on the Panthers being the only NFC South team to win yesterday?
I know a lot of us are down about yesterday, but look around the NFL in general, almost every team has glaring weaknesses, the so called powerhouses are looking very beatable.
The only thing keeping my feet rooted to the ground is that the Cowboys are still the Cowboys, otherwise l would be convinced of my alternate universe theory

You call it alternate universe. I call it bizarro world. And I'm good. Or as good as I can be. As with every team, it depends on health of team and not having key injuries. And luck. The center goes down on the first drive. FIRST DRIVE. We are 2-1 and I didn't expect that. I also didn't expect that the final score would be 15-12.

And what else I didn't expect was the Broncs beating the Bucs. I mean, I picked it on my Pick'em so I won that but I didn't EXPECT it. I also picked Carolina on my Pick'em and I won that and I didn't expect that either.

Next team up, please.

It is a crazy start to the year. Sam Darnold is on the undefeated Vikings???

And with the Saints game, the Eagles are under intense criticism, the Dome was pretty green from what I saw and heard :mad1: and they were desperate for a win. As were the Panthers, Giants and Broncos. And the 49ers, Cowboys and Browns are losing. Granted the 49ers have a multitude of injuries but the Cowboys are just not that good (not taking anything away from the Saints stomping of them) and the Browns have Deshaun Watson.

It is a whacky start........

Yep folks, this is modern day professional football. There are no sure bets; no rhyme or reason.
Everything plays a part in wins and losses. From analytics, to key injuries, to players slipping on the artificial turf, to ultra-slow motion instant replays. The list goes on & on.

If we are the cream of the league, we will eventually rise to the top. If we are not, we simply don't belong there. But there are far too many intangibles to foresee the reasons why any team wins or loses in any given week. Nothing is written in stone. Unusual things happen, both good & bad, to all 32 teams in the NFL.

If we are truly as good as Weeks 1 & 2, there are a lot of fun weeks to come. If we are not, then you'll just have to remind yourself that we have been this way before. But this is why we eagerly anticipate each season and each game... so we can discover who we will be by the time the season rolls up in February.
