I voted trade down just because it's the least likely thing to happen during a Saints' draft. Prospects fall and we trade up, neither of those would surprise me.

I don't think this is the draft to go get our QB. And nobody should be trading up for hunter. I think there will be a good selection of talent at pick 9. I'm not opposed to trading back but I wouldn't call it a pipe dream. So Carter at 9 would be the best option imo.

Trade back to the 20s for a 2026 1st, and 2025 2nd...

Then in 2026 we trade back both 1sts the same way....

Result
2025 - mid 20s 1st & 2 2nds
2026 - 2 mid to late 1sts & 3 2nds
2027 - 3 1sts .....

Yummy 😋
Not a bad scenario, really, especially if someone falls to the mid-20s and the team had rock-solid, inside information that they were going to fall.

Trading back a couple times then back up into the 3rd round on day two and ending up with 7 or 8 picks in the first 3 rounds.
Pipe dream of all pipe dreams.

Our later 4th, 5th, and 7th round picks don't interest me. Neither does drafting in the first half of round 1. Our roster isn't ready for an elite player to change things. It's also too thin to hope some late round selections are hidden gems and we have enough yet-to-prove developmental players. Give me 7/8 guys with a chance to be starters soon if not day one.

By most accounts, this draft is loaded with players that match that description from the mid-1st through the early 4th making BPA almost moot and more of a preference/evaluation per team. The position of need crowd would be hard pressed to find a position that is not a need on our current roster.
