Seems like 80% of places these days have these abominations called “crispy fries” or “double-fried” french fries. Does anyone really like this better than traditional fries? At first it was fine, a few kitchen managers trying to be different with their fries but now they’re everywhere - you’re not doing anything different and fries suck now.

Seems like an answer to a problem that didn’t exist. And now it’s as if New Coke prevailed and it’s the only thing you can get anymore.

I declare shenanigans.

I like crinkle cut Waffle Fries. Thank you for keeping them out of this.

I have noticed this phenomena too Chuck, and i agree that they suck.. My theory is , since i have mostly noticed it over the last year or two, that it’s a cost cutting measure where most restaurants are ordering whatever Sysco Foods’ lowest priced fries are- and apparently these ‘double crispy’ abominations are them…The first time i ever remember having them was probably 30 yrs ago or so at Rally’s.. they were actually not bad, kind of a novelty at first- but lately they have gotten out of control .

This is me. I'll eat almost any kind of fry. It's hard to go wrong with the concept.

But yet here we are.

The other day at a place I ordered a club sandwich and fries - there was a picture on the menu of it (fancy place, yes) and the fries looked awesome. I love a good club sammich and fries.

Except it comes out with bullshirt over-cooked “crispy fries” with crust on them. I was violated. Blatant misrepresentation and false advertising.

I’m angry about what the Americans, specifically what Johnsonville’s punk arse did to the Polish sausage.
