-- is this the same as the SI cover curse - which Vince also avoided what 3 times?

GameCoverCurse = serious post? You have any on the Toothfairy. Santa Clause. Easter Bunny. Julia Roberts as a sex symbol. Lee Harvey Oswald working alone.

As an aside - didn't you cover this topic already - *quick search reveals - yes*

I wonder if he'll make it to game 3 with the Madden Curse after him. QB's get it the worse when it comes the the curse. And yes I believe in it. I almost [MOD EDIT] my pants when I heard the finalists were VY, Chad Johnson, Drew Brees, and Reggie Bush. But then they said it was VY and I immediately laughed at every Titans fan I know cause they're all Saints haters

:covri:

Curse = stupid

I would love for Bush or Brees to get the cover. Vince will walk all over the "curse"

Speaking of which Coach have you been looking at Texas football lately? this kid Colt Mccoy, has done a great job as Vince's successor at Texas. He wasn't supposed to do good and I did not expect him to good, but man he has been great. I think that Texas can make a run at it and I never thought I would say that either.

My team Auburn isn't going to set the world on fire this year I am afriad. We may win 8-9, 10 games at the most, because we lost a lot of good players and personnel this off-season. Brandon Cox is the feature man to look at in this year's Auburn team

Ok I mispelled accept, yall got me. But are yall saying the curse isn't real?? After awhile it stops being a coincidence. Garrison Hearst broken ankle in playoffs. Barry Sanders sudden retirement. Dorsey Levens 224 yards for the season. Daunte Culpepper back injury, and we know the rest. Mike Vick, fractured fibula. Ray Lewis, horrible season with minor injuries. Donovan Mcnabb, groin injuries. Shaun Alexander, broken foot. And these weren't small little bruises, a lot of games missed and a lot of surgery and missed playoffs caused from this.

Eddie George and Marshall Faulk are the only two who weren't effected the year they graced the cover but after that they went down the toilet.

IMO I don't see how you can't accept* the curse as real. If Vince goes down this season will you not be nervous when Reggie is on the cover?? I know I sure will be

Colt Mccoy is a pretty good QB and a tremendous leader. With him and that track star running back (I forget his name) and the fact they play in the Big 12, they have a great chance at making it to the championship. I don't think they will though.

Also, let me ask you something. I've never talked to a real Auburn fan before. How did you feel about going 14-0 and not winning the national championship? I think that is the biggest bullcrap i have ever seen in sports. Any team that goes undefeated in the SEC deserves to be number one without even playing in the championship but they shut yall out to watch Oklahoma get beat again. If that had happened to LSU I would still be complaining to this day

I think there's only 3 teams that can beat you on the schedule this year 2884. Losing both Grubbs and Duckworth will hurt up the gut on the OL, no doubt. Losing Irons isn't a big deal to me at all, I think they'll be better at the RB spot without him personally.

That DL with Groves/Marks/Sims is just ferocious though. If Blackmon could get his head on straight (doesn't seem likely) I think the D would be better than last year - it may be regardless of Blackmon's input. (2nd year in Muschamp's system, etc ... ) That being said -- @LSU and @Florida - tough to draw them both on the road. @UGA could be interesting and then there is of course Bama.

Should be a fun year for Auburn.

Running back's name is Jamaal Charles (from Port Arthur).

FYI, Vince is invincible. No need to worry about him. :ezbill:

Who's Vince Young?

Does anyone on here have a real opinion on the Madden Curse??

Vince Young is not the subject here, he is just another victim of the thing. All three QB's to appear on the cover ended up with season ending injuries and if Vince suffers the same fate I will not be happy if Brees or Bush is on the cover.

Of course if Vince does get hurt badly they'll probably throw Vick on the cover again :smilielol:
