Nice to read a positive story about a retired Saint. He's coaching high school football as well as in the indoor league.

The way I look at it, I already went through the demanding part of my life. Now, I just want to enjoy life and help some kids get to the next level.”

i always loved that dude.
He is one of my all time favorite Saints, even though he was only here a few years. He was the monster in the middle that took our defense up a notch. We went from the sieve that was Venturi's crew to our NFC Championship defense with Big Tank clogging the center. He was never a super-star player, but he did his job and he did it competently.

More importantly though, he was a constantly upbeat and jovial character in a time when New Orleans needed upbeat jovial characters. His attitude helped turn our locker room and the city around post-Katrina.

That video where he was "interviewing" players on the team bus during training camp at Millsaps will be one of my favorite all-time videos. I wish I could find it, anyone has it saved perhaps? It used to be on the Saints' website. :idunno:

He was trying to talk to Fujita, but he didn't want to talk.

Hollis: "We got Scott Fujita on the LoveLine here, Scott, you want to send a shoutout to who?"
Scott: *chuckles nervously and turns to the window*
Hollis: "Man, moment killer! How about you Karney? How do you feel about going over in this blistering heat to perform?"
Mike: "I think it's great, I get to go hit Scott Fujita one more time today!"

:hihi:

Don't even remember the question, but his answer was...
"Look, I'm a fat guy. I'll always be a fat guy..." circa 2008. Was that his last year?

What a great trade swapping 4th round picks with Philly (I think) and getting him to make up the difference. We got Faine that way too. Awesome way to get good players on draft day when you're rebuilding.

Could I get some Juicy Fruit???!! Not ******* spearmint???!!!!

I saw him run the lenth of the field and catch someone before they scored a TD. The end of the play was near the goal line and there was a banner hanging in the end zone for "Hollis's Kids Foundation". I was so impressed with his play, I looked up the foundation and made a donation.

I always liked his attitude and his ability to overcome his physical obstacles.
