The trade deadline is October 31. That is just a couple of days before the start of week 9. Since the Jets seems to feel they are only a QB away, it's been rumored they may trade for someone or try to lure a QB out of retirement.

If what I’m seeing is accurate, they still need to bring somebody in. They have Wilson on the main roster and Tim Boyle on the PS. At a minimum, they might as well bring in one of the FA vets, with starting experience, to round out the QB room.

I think they bring in Ryan or Wentz this week because of instant need (edit {because of the huh?]: Wilson is the most experienced QB they have right now --- they need a vet to back up Wilson) ... and then pray Wilson slowly grows into the position

I actually think they will sign a veteran backup, and go with Zack Wilson as the starter. Besides, Wilson can't screw up too badly just handing the ball off to Breece Hall and Dalvin Cook.

Wilson.

McCoy or Wentz are FA vets they could sign today. Winston or Bridgewater probably costs a 3rd. Most teams with quality #2 QBs, Dalton or Heinike, have young starters. No AFC team will trade a QB.

They need someone, even if it’s just to back up Wilson. I hope it is not Winston, don’t think it would be smart to trade him especially with how much Carr is going to get hit by our porous o line.

Why so many keep trying to trade our backup QB for a mid/late round draft choice in a year where we believe the Saints are competing for the division title continues to baffle me.
Same here. We don't owe the Jets any favors and Winston is a known commodity. Even if a 3rd round pick was offered, there's no guarantee that pick will work out.

First and foremost, the front office has to do what is best for the team, but if a trade offer is extended that they are interested in, I’d hope they’d talk it over with Jameis and get his feedback. The opportunities for him to compete for playing time are going to be sparse. If interest from NYJ was there, that would be a good chance for him to get on the field ahead of hitting free agency.

I’d rather have him here, though.

IDK but after Rogers injury I'd bet a million the NFL finally makes the shift to real grass.

Jameis is such a dumbarse but we love him. Dont wanna lose our backup to the Jets!

I went with Cousins.. if the Vikings are struggling up until the trade deadline and the Jets are still hanging around the playoff picture I think I could see it happening.
