I saw people go from wanting Vance Joseph and Brian Flores as their head coach to their own fans wanting them fired following the playoff losses. Would a horrible performance by Detroits defense give you second thoughts on Glenn ? I don’t want him anywhere near this team. We need a good young OC as HC.

I don't believe in the Lions. When you have injuries like that, you can step up for a game or two, but it's going to bite you in the long run. Don't think they make it too far because of their defense. Injuries matter. A good coach can hide it temporarily but they can't fix it.

I’m not huge on Glenn in the first place because I don’t think the Lions defense is very good. The offense is carrying that team. That’s not a knock on him either. I want a coach whose unit is in the top echelon of the league and AG’s isn’t there. Ben Johnson’s unit is.

Yeah I have zero against Glenn, loved him as a player, but hasn’t the Lions defense been pretty bad since he’s been the DC?

Even before all the injuries? I may misremember.

I don’t think their defense has looked very good for the last 3-5 weeks of the season but they’re also ridiculously banged up. I think they’re still the best team in the NFC but all it takes is bad day for that D and they could be done.

Edit - Realized I didn’t answer the question. I wouldn’t hold it against him if they had a bad game in their current state. He’s not my most preferred candidate though but I mainly just would prefer an offensive guy at HC, not too well researched on the options at the moment.

As far as ppg. They were at 16.9 ppg the first 12 games. The last 5 games that went up to 27.8. If they continued their original pace they would have been the best defense in the league by a good margin.

Ok, guess I was wrong. I know they’ve been dealing with a lot of injuries.

Thank you for the stats.

We need to get an offensive coach, you can win with a good offense and an ok defense. Can't win with a bad offense and a good defense.

Saints aren't good on either side of the ball. Offense is the quickest way to fix team. Good Offensive players are far easier to find than defensive ones.

Alot of the defensive players are back. If that unit looks anything close to average or worse, the hype train should drop. The defense wasn't impressive before the injuries, during and we'll see about after. People are over exaggerating the success of that defense while injuries were rampant just because it wasn't an awful defense.
