NFL Draft WR Kyren Lacy wanted for felony hit and run/negligent homicide (72 Viewers)

Must be draft season, another draft prospect allegedly causes someone's death. Every year one of these guys kills someone.
I'd have to see a list of incidents of actual killings, but yes, it does seem every year, at least one big-name potential draft pick gets in trouble with the law.

Adding to this by saying the fuller stories about this say he was apparently weaving in and out of traffic on a two-lane road. My goodness, the number of times I've grrr-ed at other drivers who pass me on a two-lane road by people who think I'm apparently not driving fast enough. Happens a lot up here in Miss., too.

Lacy is wanted on charges of negligent homicide and felony hit-and-run following a December 17, 2024 traffic crash that killed a former Marine and injured two others, Louisiana State Police said.

Louisiana State Police say they are “in communication with Lacy and his legal representation to turn himself in.”

After allegedly causing the crash, investigators allege Lacy sped from the scene and did not report his involvement to police.

Lacy, 24, of native of Thibodaux, Louisiana is also wanted on a charge of reckless operation of a vehicle, documents show.

According tto the article it was 10 in the morning. I was expecting to see some sort of DUI or drag racing to be involved.

What punishment would he be facing if he did not run from the scene and took responsibility by calling it in and going from there? I guess he gets to make use of his lawfirm NIL deal now or at least I think its LSU football players that are sponsored by Gordon or someone.

did he leave the scene because he wanted the drugs / alcohol to get out of his system? Because a DWI is better to have than fleeing a homicide... anyone know why he fled?

Looks like it's about every other year.

Jalen Carter in 2023.

Henry Ruggs in 2021.

There was also the Kayshon Boutte running a train in Atlanta, but that wasn't vehicle related as the train is a different kind of act.

Not to be dismissive but the kid from Georgia did a similar criminal act, he's in the NFL. Sad this guy didn't have the common sense to stop and at least render aid, but I'm sure there is more to it.

I'm extremely familiar with this area... this is not a broad interstate highway with lots of shoulder room... it's a curvy 2lane road through the former swamp, ditches on either side. Yeah, way too many people passing in these areas....

Dang it... I was really pulling for him.
