Yep. I watched Eric every morning until I left the city. He was the perfect fill-in when Bill Elder stepped out of the noon spot as well.
 
Simply a NOLA institution.. one of my favorite tv shows as a kid was this show called Voyagers about a guy and this kid who traveled thru time and met historic figures , sort of a precursor to Bill & Ted, and less goofy… well as it turned out , the lead guy on that show , Jon-Erik Hexum was first cousins with Eric Paulsen and they did a big feature on Ch 4 about the show and the cousins’ relationship growing up.. fast forward a couple years, and that guy Hexum accidentally shot & killed himself on the set of another show, and Paulsen did a big thing on that as well.. so that was over 40 years ago now.. years later I crossed paths with Paulsen a couple times in a professional capacity and he usually seemed grumpy and aggravated, but i guess that was part of his on-air persona.. godspeed man, NOLA tv wont be the same without ya .
