Final PFT 2024 Mock Draft (Saints select Georgia TE Brock Bowers) (2 Viewers)

Lazy draft in my mind. No way Detroit trades out of the first round when you're hosting the draft. I like the Bowers pick though.

I'll take Bowers anyday. My worst fear is the Saints will move up in the draft and forgo next years first round pick. PLEASE NO. This Saints are not there yet for a good playoff run so I would like for them to build back the team through the draft.

Not to mention next year's first could realistically be a top 10.

This is the Doomsday scenario in terms of how the draft could fall. All the OTs are gone. The top two pass rushers are gone. If this scenario actually played out they would have to take Bowers as the clear BPA. Or maybe some team wants to trade up for him or the Corner they covet. Maybe the Eagles make a move for Terrion Arnold or Quinyon Mitchell and we get our 2nd back along with something else.

As much as I like Bowers I think the Saints should pick up the phone if someone calls if it plays out like this.

How exactly does Bowers fit in the NFL? He's much smaller than Kelce, Kittle, etc. If he projects as a WR-tweener then his success will be highly dependent on an OC who creates matchups a la Payton. Do we have the creativity to put him to use? If not then we are better off with a simple big man for the trenches...

His size is similar (within an inch and 5lbs of each other when drafted) to George Kittle, Sam Laporta, Dalton Kincaid, Trey Mcbride, David Njoku and Evan Engram. That is 6 of last years top 10 receiving leaders at TE. Size won't be an issue for him in the NFL. He's a better prospect than any of those guys were coming into the league as well.
