Cornerback | Senior | Tennessee St. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
Height: 6-11/2 | Weight: 184 | 40-Time: 4.33

Official Bio

Strengths:
Naturally athletic and very smooth...Great height with long arms and some growth potential...Very good timed speed with a burst to close...Instinctive and breaks on the ball quickly...Terrific agility...Playmaker with exceptional ball skills...Aggressive and confident...Was pretty productive at his level...Also an excellent kick returner.

Weaknesses:
Needs to add weight and bulk up...Not very physical and has to get stronger...Did not play against top competition...Still raw and will need to work on his technique and footwork...Struggles to shed blocks...Doesn't really offer much in run support.

Notes:
Attended four different high schools and didn't play football until his senior year..A Division II All-American...Also participated in track for the Tigers, winning the Ohio Valley Conference championships in the 60 yard dash, the long jump and the high jump...Needs to put some time in at the training table and in the weight room but has the talent to make the NFL leap...One of the top sleepers prospects available.

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie Scouting Report - 2008 NFL Draft Prospect

I like this kids speed and hands... if we pass on Keith Rivers or he is gone... I think this pick would be good too... I like staying put at #10 and picking between Rivers or Cromartie..

Is it me but was that second video all of just 3 or 4 plays from different angles?

None of those plays were out of the ordinary or what I'd consider really good plays. His best play was the pass breakup to the outside, but that reciever did a poor job of shielding him, but good play none the less.

I know you're not a DRC fan, but come on! The young man has great skills and makes plays.

I am with CHI-town on my view of DRC, but I admit that there were a few good plays in there. He has potential, I won't deny it. The problem is that the second video was all the same plays from different angles...

You're right, I'm not high on DRC.......but what play did he make on that highlight reel that says, "that guy is special"? The INT from the Senior Bowl was thrown directly to him, he did tackle pretty well in space, I stand by my post earlier that the best play he made was the pass breakup on the sideline.

It's not that I don't like DRC even a little, it's that most here love him for reasons to do with his post College career. IMO, Jenkins and Talib have the best on-field technique and look to be players fro their Gamefilm. Sure DRC has the highest ceiling, but I'd rather not gamble on a top 10 pick.

With the measureables this guy has produced, he should have eaten his competitors up in his conference and he didn't. He had comparable stats to the other CB's highly rated, but they went up against a talent level much greater than DRC and I think that needs to be taken into account.

DRC could easily sit the sideline like Meachem did last year.....I don't want to see that again.

I agree.

I dunno, those plays he made in the Senior bowl were pretty darn good if you ask me.

The ball skills are there, speed, athleticism.
Technique needs a little work, but hes working out with Deion Sanders.

Tackling technique and ability isn't so great, but he is a raw talent.
Could turn out to be a tight cover corner, and those are hard to come by.

When was the last time you saw a Saints CB make plays like that? ya me either.

i dont like this guy. the only good play he made (in the senior bowl coming back to break up pass) would never happen in the nfl. that is a slow release from the qb. i sure hope we dont draft this guy. Did he come for a private workout

I'll be happy when I know longer have to see the initials "DRC"

I have a feeling that you will not see the last of DRC after this draft. He, like the other top 4 CBs, will have a good shot at a career in the NFL. I highly doubt that we have heard the last of him even if he is a bust. I just hope that if he is a bust someone in our division gets him and if he is a boom someone in the AFC gets him.

Wouldn't it be great if the Panthers picked him at 13 and he was a complete bust?

I like the idea of an afc team taking him. We need to draft a STARTER.
