LSU vs Wisky at the Frozen Tundra Game Thread (1 Viewer)

If what you're saying is true, the issue starts and finishes with the coach, not the player. If the player isn't good enough, they should sit. But there's a human element to the game as well. I wish Harris would do well not only for his sake, but the sake of the team. If he can't improve, then Miles absolutely has the responsibility to sit him and find someone else who can get it done.

I personally think poor coaching is the cause of the qb play, and as such, said coaching needs go. How many qbs do we have to go through to prove the point?
Agreed on the coaching aspect. It's like a vicious cycle between player and coach and until he (Miles) breaks it, we are doomed to repeat every. Damn. Year.

I tell ya one of the worst parts of the trip was the sun. The LSU Fans were all looking into the sun the entire game. I know it was only 80 degrees out but it was hot with no shade. A lot of the fans were pretty lethargic. There were moments, but most of the people sitting near me in section 109 were just too quiet. A lot of sitting and just clapping.

Considering I sat home and watched this one while you hit the road, you put your money where your heart ... Was. I don't blame you for returning the enthusiasm.

I can't imagine being at that game. It had to be brutal.

Harris is a problem. Miles, if he doesn't recognize that, is a bigger problem. I suggest they put Etling in next week and test him out while putting Harris on notice that it's time to put on the big boy pants.

Fans need to see Miles do more than show loyalty. That's not winning games.

We have too much talent to shrug this one off. I think Miles' goose might be cooked though. Not sure anything he does will retrieve him at this point.

****.

I'm in agreement with St. Tammany.

Broken clocks and all that lol.

Disagree. Harris' feeble mind is the problem.

Harris is coddled because he is an emotional type player. Miles has repeatedly said he never wanted to ruin his psyche.

This intrigues me because it was never the impression I got of Harris from the people I know with connections to Parkway's football program. They always indicated he was poised, confident, and mature.

The leap to college is big, especially to a program like LSU, so maybe it has been too overwhelming for him.

I was excited when he chose to play for the Tigers even though Ohio State seemed like it was probably the better fit between player and program.

As it is, Harris looks to be going the way of some other supposedly talented QBs who have floundered at LSU. His mistake yesterday late in the game was costly, and on him, but the entire team played poorly. Highly touted WRs who don't seem to regularly get that separation that people like to point out as a huge difference between college and pro ball, and frequently seem to lose on contested catches, an OLine that didn't play well, the best back in the country not getting it going until after the half, and a defense that had some struggles getting Wisconsin off the field as the game wore on.

Hard to see past coaching and preparation after a team effort like that.

Completely agree. Harris is only a small part of the larger problem. The 4th and short was indicative of the poor coaching. The left guard pulled right and completely missed the lb coming right up the gut. It's like they didn't know what their assignments were. The last drive, Watt was right up in Harris' grill on more than one play. Poor line play really did the bulk of the damage. The loss was self-inflicted, unfortunately.

As far as coaches go, how about Lane Kiffin? He seems to do pretty well with QBs and would be a far sight better than Miles IMO. Thoughts?

My one thought...big, big $$$.

LSU will be going against Baylor, Texas A&M, and possibly Texas. They going have to dish out big money plus Miles buyout. I doubt they can get Herman.

Ive said it before, IMO Herman is more of a wishful thinking. I believe Herman will do 1 of 2 things. Either replace Strong at Texas when he gets fired or if Houston gets a BIG invite he will stay.

No. No. No, NO. Lane IMO is a great OC but a horrible HC.

The issue isn't Harris. It's Miles. Remember, he played an ineffective Jefferson for a championship while having Mettenburger on the bench. If it wasn't Harris, it would just be someone else. These are the type of QB's and style of play that Miles wants.

I dunno, I don't think he has enough of a track record to really say he's horrible. Sometimes people learn from experience and Kiffin strikes me as someone who would. I also think his experiences with Saban will go a long way in bringing that kind of culture to LSU. I could be wrong, but I think it might be worth looking at at least.

We were opposite side in shade all game. We even said we feel for all the fans in that sun. I know it wasn't Baton Rouge heat, but it was sunny all game and knew everyone was drinking since Thursday lolol .

Plus we really didn't have much to cheer about except Whites int td and one other.

Thank goodness for the shade since we were out Friday nite 2 am then woke at 5 to drive up and keep drinking til I shut it down at halftime ( driving)

Isn't the Miles etal buyout in the 20mil range?

That, plus the expense of new coaches could mean we're Stuck.

A certain site to not be named kept claiming it was around the 7 million range last night/today

It's almost as if he guarantees playing time to Harris and before with Jefferson. Like he is not allowed to take them out of the game.

Poor judgement if so. Miles needs to step aside and just let Cameron take over. Completely.
