Ravens had eleven sacks [MERGED] (1 Viewer)

This is definitely a function of who is behind center.

Buffalo, Nathan Peterman (2nd year), Josh Allen (R) - 6 sacks
Cleveland, Baker Mayfield (R), 5 sacks
Tennessee Marcus Mariota (4th year), 11 sacks

Cincinnati, Andy Dalton, 0 sacks
Denver, Case Keenum, 3 sacks
Pittsburgh, Ben Rottenburger, 1 sack

So if they get 0, 1, or 2 next week, not a surprise. Just the trend.

Agreed.
And our o line is elite, so I’ll be surprised if they get more than 2. And that’s nothing against them, their D is legit.

I've been saying this on here for months; Baltimore's defense is good enough to be a SB contender.....if only they had a better quarterback.

This game will be a true test and we better hope our defense shows up against another bad quarterback.

They had a bye week before they played us. Only reason they were first in scoring defense.
They also had given hardly any yards or points. Take their 4 other games and put them up against week4 standings.

We gotta take care of the ball.
Plain and simple.
I agree. Their offense is inconsistent as it gets. If we don’t let them score on defense or give them short fields we should be ok. Also, if we score 30+ on them PFF will say it was bad defense...

The average of the six offenses they played (by both total YPG and passing YPG) is 20th.

With 32 teams, the league average is 16.5, but 20th is far more below average than you might realize, because every point up or down gets harder to achieve as you keep heading in that direction.

Don't get me wrong, this is a very good defense (5th in 2016, 10th last year, so 1st right now is not a fluke), and they'll be home. Also, as this is a road game against a strong team, the bet is that Payton will emphasize patience and ball protection and hope to play another "complementary game" like we did at the Giants, and the way we beat the Eagles on the road in the playoffs in 2014, so I wouldn't expect to see us running up and down the field on them.

On the other hand, I don't expect to see them running up and down the field on us, either, now that our defensive act is getting back together.

Will be a great measuring stick game -- one of the top three teams in the AFC, and the second best plus/minus in points right now behind the Rams.

Let's also not forget that last week baker threw for like 340 on them and their O isn't all that great either

The Ravens have a legit defense, but NOBODY's defense matches up with our offense when it's clicking. They will likely do what every other team tries to do. Mitigate Kamara and Thomas. We saw last week that when you do that, we have 6 to 8 other players capable of beating you and that our coach and QB can facilitate that to a tee.

As long as we play clean ball, (penalties, turnovers, and dropped passes) we will move the ball and score on their defense. Beings it's on the road, outdoors, on grass... I would imagine Payton wants to do it methodically instead of going for big chunks. That means staying on schedule by setting up 3rd and manageable situations and then converting them into first downs. THAT hasn't been our strong point this season or last. But with Ingram back now, and being absolutely loaded with skill players, we should see that start to improve. Even against the #1 defense in the league.

Yall over here looking at the Ravens as a formidable opponent...I'm just darkening my Roux for Raven Gumbo.

But Imma let yall stress over it.

Saints 24-17

Now that we have the record out of the way, please run the ball. We won 12 games last year with the help of a more of a running game. I don't care about 40 plus game. I care more about winning. Even with a low score.

Did we not win last game? And the game before that up in NY?

Against a quarterback that has no feeling in his throwing hand and cannot make quick throws?

Good for them but hardly impressive.

Lol... Dirtying up the game doesn't work. Playing to keep the game a low score where most games go into the 20s and 30s is dumb. Punting is a sign of defeat this year. We own TOP because we burn the clock with a short passing game and is more efficient than grinding out 3 yards.

And do think we can consistently win games having to put up 40 plus points? It will come to a point where running the ball and controlling the clock helps with both side of the ball. I rather do what we did last year than 2011.

Just keep in mind that this is the same team that lost to the Bengals and BROWNS. I believe the Saints will handle their bizness.
