1. Zach Baun LB Wisconsin - we get our A.J. Klein replacement at SAM. Hopefully he can play MIKE in the nickel like Klein did for us. I wasn’t a big fan of Baun, but he has grown on me. I think he fits the mold of the what we look for in a LB. Adding his blitzing ability to Davis’ would give us two really good pass rushing options from the LB spot.
3. Troy Dye LB Oregon - we double up on the position and get our future starting MIKE as well. I wouldn’t mind doing that at all due to the fact Anzalone & Kiko are walking injuries. We could possibly have our best LB core in a while if this was to come to fruition. Hopefully he can add like 15 more pounds to that 6’4” frame. He wouldn’t have to start right away, but could be a beast on special teams and a backup as a rookie unless Anzalone can’t stay healthy again.
4. Lamar Jackson CB Nebraska - nice big corner at 6’2” 205. He could possibly end up being a starter as a press man corner. He would be a quality backup outside corner for sure. We met with him at the Senior Bowl.
5. Dezmon Patmon WR Washington St - looks like he could be a faster version of Marques Colston in that he’s a big receiver at 6’4” 225. With how deep this group of receivers is, we could get a guy that would likely go earlier in a normal draft this late
6. Jacob Breeland TE Oregon - we get our 3rd TE with the another player from Oregon. He’s got nice size at 6’5” 250+. We took a TE late last year that didn’t pan out, so we do it again in this draft.
We add some defensive reinforcements with our first 3 picks then get Drew some more weapons for the passing game with the last two picks
