By the result, that Brandin Cooks trade should be a top ten trade in league history. (1 Viewer)

Brandon Cooks = Small Fry w/ Underwhelming Phantom Speed due to Terrible Field Vision plus top it off w/ a “Silent Big-Mouth”

OMG.... this memory just flashed in my mind and it all makes sense with this dude
Do you guys remember there is an entire video log of Brandon Cooks stating numerous times that Antonio Brown MENTORS him and Brandon says how much he loves Antonio Brown’s mindset?!?!

No matter which way Brandon would spin this.... one would have to consider that either Brandon totally is clueless on the widely known inner rumblings of AB always being disgruntled & hard for Tomlin to manage or Brandon really was drawn to ideas 💡 AB brought his way...i.e. “Closed mouths don’t get fed.” <—— this statement was post AB adoration from Cooks.

Talk about an interview that isn’t aging well for Brandon...

But when was the interview done?

The whole "Antonio Brown is nothing but trouble" storyline didn't seem to really take off until the last couple of years.

Brandin saying something like that in his first 3 or so years in the league would have hardly been any type of red flag. He would have been going by the best info he had at the time.

Snead remains the enigma.

Clearly he wasn't shut out of the offense based on ability and we needed another receiving option in the mold he fit when he was phased out.

Something more was going on either from Snead side or Payton side, altitudinally or something. They let him go and for an undrafted FA guy he went on to contribute also in Baltimore. He's not elite or anything but certainly someone Brees could get production out of if all else was right.

But something wasn't right and we never got the full story.

Snead just never really got going in 2017....and I think the Saints tried to use that to their advantage to re-sign him at a discount.

We could have really used him in 2018, in my opinion.

I have always been a huge fan of Snead. But he got that DUI or whatever before the season and it came out right before week 1 Ans he was suspended. He never recovered after that and that was his last season with the Saints.

I disagree, the Brandin Cooks trade was not even close to one of the worst weather picks ever.
If he would have stayed here no doubt he would have thrived. The problem was he got on Payton’s bad side with all of his whining.

Great find.
And you are absolutely right!!

Of course, the Brandon Cooks draft pick was one of the worst.
But we’ve got it down now......pick OL, DL or CB.

Been doing that since the Cooks pick and it’s worked out beautifully. Keep picking those 3 spots.

I'll post a few that may be better trades....

JUNE 1952 Rams got Les Richter for 11 players to the Texans. The best the Texans got was Dick Hoerner who played one year and rushed for 162 yds. The Texans went 1-11. Les made 8 straight Pro Bowls as a LBer and got the Rams to a championship game in 55. He was later inducted into the HoF.

AUG 1976 Steve Largent traded away for an 8th Round Pick. The Oilers didnt even make it to week 1 before they let him go to the Seabirds.

MAY 73 Ken Houston for 5 nobodies. The Oilers once again are on the bad end of a trade as the WFT acquires Ken Houston. Ken Houston went to 7 subsequent Pro Bowls and is one of the Top 5 Safeties of All-Time. The Oilers got well, nobody that lasted long.

When the Saints drafted MT Cooks wanted out.....A new clutch/every down WR arrived in town, so Cooks wanted out
and to NE he went((for a while).

Didn't he have more than one? I thought the one you mentioned was the 2nd one.

Which is why he never would have thrived here. Too much whining when the team had success. It would've been one thing to complain if the Saints got blown out but the Saints blew out 3G's Rams. There's zero reason to complain in that situation. There's no room for greediness on this team.

That definitely set him back big time plus I think he was in our doghouse. Never came close to recovering.

Whining after a monumental victory was just beyond the pale.

Wasn't it the shellacking of the Gregg Williams led defense of the Rams game?

Everybody ate except Cooks.
