11 am, been on calls all morning, had just logged in to our staff meeting call, get a text from a friend in VA I haven’t spoken to for a few weeks

Friend: how are ya?

me: doing good. Stacy Abrams is an American hero & work has been quiet this week.

11:05 a.m. my boss arrives to our staff meeting call

boss: apologies for being late, I got caught up watching these people storm the capitol

me: <logs on to internet to see w t f has happened>

shirt hits the fan for the rest of the day and I am thinking I made a real bad decision to stop drinking this month

Get some covid....pretty easy to stop drinking for a week or so then. It has downsides but I've saved a fortune in beer money haha. I'm hoping by sunday's game I'll be back in business. Just depends on how I feel....I'm gonna wait until all my symptoms are gone before resuming my alcoholism.

Today wasn't as good as yesterday but in the grand scheme of things I'm doing fine. Just really exhausted which leads to naps off and on all day and when I wake up I feel like arse for an hour or so then it's time for another nap haha.

Don't quote me on this, but I am pretty sure The Sidecar and the Singapore Sling is from around that time.

I like The Sidecar. Cognac, orange liqueur, and lemon juice. Good drink...nice and simple

My mom likes the Singapore Sling but I have never had one. Don't know the ingredients so I looked them up. GIn, Grand Marnier, cherry liqueur, herbal liqueur, and pineapple juice.

Yeah, that's why I never got one. But I do love drinks that have a whole ritual.

Guy who did my electrical and AC work was off the boat Scottish and he made some great booze. His absinthe was the bomb
