Mike Thomas: If a DB know the QB can’t throw deep they going to play aggressive underneath with safety help over the top. (1 Viewer)

Is Brees still his QB? Maybe on paper...

He's not saying anything that no one knows or that isn't obvious. This sounds more like a case of "if the show fits".
I get that but I'm just saying personally I wouldn't do it.

Especially because Brees and Mike have a solid relationship.

But Mike will let nothing get in the way of his trash talk or covering his bad game lol. I don't think he has any malicious intent behind it either. It's just who Mike is.

Say what y'all want but this is now our third time in seven seasons we've had a quality WR that the fans somehow place all the blame on for attitude issues. Starts looking like maybe the team doesn't know how to scout guys that won't have these issues or that maybe the team is creating the problems in the first place.

Not necessarily taking up for MT, but he didn’t say Drew sucked. He was more or less stating what all the pundits and a lot of Saints fans have been saying since late 2018 - i.e. that teams have not respected Drew’s ability to push the ball down the field.

You have to give Payton and Brees a lot of credit for having so much offensive success the past few years without being able to throw deep, but obviously, playoff caliber teams are able to stop our “half court” offense.

Hes just really tired of hearing about how Davis shut him down and he’s really tired of playing in an offense that operates in a 10-15 yard box.

Don’t blame him.
Was he complaining last year when he set the receiving record thanks to Drew?
He owes Drew half of that $100 million he signed for. He wouldn’t have had half the success he’s had over the last few years if it wasn’t for Drew.

Not sure how that changes the fact that wehaven’t been able to stretch the field that all and it’s cost us big games in the postseason.

1. It’s true
2. Even Brees would agree with this
3. It’s not a criticism of Brees at all but a commentary on reality (injuries, age, etc.)
4. MT decided to play knowing his ankle is injured just for Brees and a chance at winning.
5.Brees is allowed to be critiqued.
