This is the thing the spokespeople, media and news aren't getting across. It's the root of the problem with policing. It's what we saw with Chauvin, we see it here, we see it in almost all of these 'terrible cop' videos and stories.

It's the attitude these pigs display. Chauvin was literally killing a man with his hands in his pockets, sunglasses pushed up on his head like a Saturday stroll. This-here pig never acts concerned, surprised or even caring at all. He's so freaking callous about it. The driver could be dead, the car might catch on fire, but it ain't no thing to Officer Friendly there.

Remember that scene in Silence of the Lambs where they talk about how Lecter ate this nurse's tongue and his heart rate never went above 65? We have way, way too many cops in this country who're exactly like that.

I think what these incidents all have in common is the attitude that "people better do as I say" regardless if the means justifies the "crime". Instead of enforcing the law or levying fines, instead they are enforcing their own will, and doing so regardless of the actual costs in life, property, or liberty. This is not the intention of "peace keepers", that's the intention of fascists.

Check out the YouTube channel Audit the Audit for tons of good and bad interactions with cops. Now I certainly don't promote provoking cops just for the hell of it, but I've watched a few videos here and there and find it interesting how little of the law some cops actually know.

I was actually pulled over one week night coming back from Houston (to Austin) around 1am. I had been there helping the Houston guide dog puppy raising club (brand new club) receive their pups at the airport cargo & do some training.

Anyway, I was on this stretch of freeway that apparently the speed limit dropped from 70 to 60 and I had never noticed it.

Anyway, cop lights me up on the freeway. I keep going to the next exit & pull over by the cluster of hotels at the exit. I didn't even put on my hazards. I merely put on my blinker to indicate I'd be exiting the freeway.

Fortunately the cop I was dealing with recognized that was what I was doing and didn't try anything crazy. I mean it should be obvious as I was not trying to speed away and still using signals.

He did ask if I was drunk and I said no. He asked where I was coming from & I explained it. I had my GDB shirt on and a dog with me so he believed me but today, knowing what I know, I would 100% tell him where I was going/coming from is none of his business and to either ticket me or give me my warning and let me on my way.

I'm hoping this is internet bravado and you'd really just say in a matter of fact style that on the advice of my lawyer I'm not giving you any more information than the law requires. I'd also recommend in car camera which can document your driving and officer interactions.

I would not recommend getting confrontational at all because they might decide you need to be made into an example to assert their authority. Invoking lawyer advice tells him that you have already considered this and have the means for a lawyer. Chances are they'll act appropriately, but at that point you'll give them more to consider.

They literally instruct people do find a safe place to pull over. The highway in the video has virtually no shoulder and high concrete barriers - clearly not safe to pull over.

Or if I said "I'm coming from the hair salon" and the cop's ex-wife, who he had a bitter divorce from & despises was a hair dresser, he could be tempted to be a jerk to me because of some unrelated grudge - as we have seen them do. The less they know, the better off we are.

Also, I have been pulled over for speeding where the officer was going full on lecture. I told him to just issue the ticket and spare me the lecture. He didn't like it but he shut up and just wrote out the ticket and walked off.

The review is focused on Louisiana State Police Troop F, a 66-officer unit that patrols a sprawling territory in the northeastern part of the state and has become notorious in recent years for alleged acts of brutality that have resulted in felony charges against some of its troopers.

“You’d be naïve to think it’s limited to two or three instances. That’s why you’re seeing this audit, which is a substantial undertaking by any agency,” said Rafael Goyeneche, a former prosecutor who is president of the Metropolitan Crime Commission, a New Orleans-based watchdog group. “They’ve got to identify these people and remove them from the organization.”

I have a lot of this feeling also. It seems to me that cops' (government in general really) basic first rule is, "Do whatever I say or face consequences up to me killing you."
I don't feel they are out to protect people and they see the public as adversaries. They are more like an occupying force.

The situation with the riots is similar.

People destroy private property and the cops did basically nothing.
People attack government property, and the police (who are just the force of government) are determined to find everyone involved and punish them to the full extent of their ability.
The people weren't rioting because some business owner did something wrong (even though they got their business looted and burned down), they were rioting because of what government did but quickly realized if they attacked government, there would be actual consequences.
