Siemien’s Problems (1 Viewer)

All points are valid here, but to be cleared wrs and te problems are obvious and this teAms has good snd bad players , coaches and what not, but we are focusing on trevor mainly.

Siemian drew a bad hand for sure. If Taysom does tale over he'll be in the same boat.

Bit of a bummer for both that just when getting a chance to show your worth the roster implodes.

However, it's still possible to look at the film and draw some conclusions about a QB and their decisions, mechanics, accuracy, pocket awareness, and such. Trained eyes (not mine for sure) will make those decisions.

If Hill is ever to take the reins at QB for the Saints, it's kind of Payton to not have him playing now or there would be calls for his lynching and there would be 42 dozen threads about how we need to play Book or bring in Rivers before Hill actually had a chance to play with an NFL roster.

Dude is playing with the roster of a 2nd half preseason game. While he hasn't set the world on fire, he hasn't had much to work with.
This is a really good perspective. Someone in another thread said it felt like he was watching the third stringers in a preseason game vs the Bills and that's exactly what it looked like.

It's actually looked like that on offense all year, like Thomas and TQS we're being rested but Winston, Kamara and the offensive line needed to get more reps before the season opener.

Sooo I find it funny how the Mods can take down my TS post immediately but leave all these others alone. Who can I speak to regarding fairness?

The thing that gets me more aggravated with Siemian then anything else, is when the receiver is actually open, he misfires about 50% of the time. So between his erratic passing and the erratic play of the receivers, you end up with a losing record.

The real reason we're losing with Siemian at QB...?

THE MULLET!!!

Not a fan of it. Bad mojo, it's gotta go.

But seriously, although not all the blame is on TS, he clearly is not starting QB. Serviceable backup, but with all the injuries, he's got a tough break. Playcalling didn't help either. As someone mentioned, empty backfield on 3rd&short? C'mon coach! If you're gonna pass, at least keep them guessing!

Said this before, but I would like to see Book, if TS plays like this. Also, seems like a good time to give Taysom a real chance to show what he's got at QB1.

Agreed. No single player is to blame for the losses.

But if Brees is sharing his observations, I think it's worth a discussion at least.
I think you are drawing the correct balance. QBs are always open to critical review. Trevor is no exception. But, to blame the back up QB for the this teams decline is a disservice. It is getting impossible to really evaluate players in this environment. Trevor is a starter on bad teams and a valued backup on a playoff team. To think Drew would have done any better in the last few games is just a fantasy.

Only problem with putting a RB in the Backfield is Tony Jones was showing nothing. I dont even think he averaged 2 yards a carry on 16 runs. His running looked slow and non authoratative. Seemed he was always just tentatively trying hit the hole.

I'm not a fan of the quick snaps. I have seen it in the last few games. I know we can catch the defense off-guard but it seems like our guys are never ready.

TS's performance has been on par with every other backup out there. We can have a pool to bet on which backup is going to do a critical mistake in any game. I said before the season that you need to go in with an open mind. I never expected so many injuries, but even with everyone, it still would be a challenge. We lost a lot players over the off-season and with the injuries, it has only exacerbated the situation. The silver lining is that you have backup with practical game experience. The ones that can play through adversity and grow/ develop as a player would be beneficial later. We probably should be a little less harsh on TS. He is essentially the back up to the back up replacing a HoF QB, couple that with a depleted weak WR corps, questionable TE play, constant reshuffling of the OL due to injuries, and injuries to key starters, it is not at all surprising we are struggling. Despite this I have not seen any quit in these guys.
